You have to be famous like @greggertruck
LOL, exactly! I was so excited to pick up my Cybertruck after seeing @greggertruck 's videos and pics. He definitely got the grand treatment. So many people had such an amazing experience, that I was expecting something at least kinda cool.

I picked up my CT only 2 months after his and it was very rushed and not very personable. They simply opened the door for me, handed me the envelope with the extra key card fob, and said have a nice day. I thought they were going to help me setup the infotainment and walkthrough the different screens since I never had a Tesla before.

Oh well, at least I have been on this forum for such a long time that I knew all the functionality well before I picked it up. :)

Mount Kisco NY was a terrific delivery experience.

My name was on a placard on the dash

Our CT was detailed quite thoroughly

The Tesla associate took her time to introduce the CT and get us going

20 minutes from beginning to end.

Every single vehicle we've purchased over the last 20 years has been accompanied at delivery by a mandatory visit to the dealer-profit maximizing "business manager" for a hard sale of accessory features, coatings, warranties etc.

The worst part of being trapped in that idiot's office is where you sign your first-born away to represent that you don't want the ceramic-impregnated rust proofing undercoat spray or the wheel scratch and dent warranty by acknowledging that it could be world-ending if you don't.

It's such a crappy traditional dealer experience, what a delight to have none of it at Tesla.
300000% agreed.

Tesla delivery process is horrible.
I picked up my cybertruck this morning and
I was shocked at the nonchalance of their delivery approach.

Its my first Tesla but no one cared to walk me to my car, show around the features, help me set up the infotainment system absolutely nothing.
Now this would have been great if it was a choice, but what happens to someone who isn't tech savvy? is Tesla fine with loosing those kinds of customers?

The entire process was very detestful!!
Go sit in a dealership all day if that's more your speed.

Having experienced "Normal" high pressure, full service automobile dealerships in the past I found my experience at he Pleasant Grove Utah delivery center to be refreshing. I was early. A rep met me at the door. They got me through the delivery process in under half an hour. Someone did give me a crash course in Tesla because I was a total noob. It probably varies by delivery center and staffing and the personalities involved but I was quite pleased.

And not once did I have to put up with a slimy sales person saying something like. "I wouldn't do this for everyone but I can make you a special deal"

IMO, Tesla is not a luxury brand. More like Toyota or Ford of the EV world. Add to that Tesla’s general simplification approach and society’s detachment of in-person human interaction choosing instead interactions through devices, not surprised about the negative experience.

That said, my experience is Tesla’s sales service has been helpful without being ‘over the top.’ In other words, adequate. If I have questions, they’re willing to answer them without hesitation.

To us, this is a big expense and an experience to cherish. To them, it’s Wednesday morning before break and the next John Doe coming at 10am to pick up their Tesla.

I used to say this until I found out that they were listed as a luxury brand focused on tech and performance.

Tesla's entire business model revolves around being as lean as possible. There are hundreds of high quality videos for stuff like that not only produced from Tesla, but 3rd party vloggers as well.

Also, the vehicle manuals are digital, searchable, and incredibly easy to follow. With respect, if you want someone to personally show you how to setup radio stations, then perhaps you should visit a local enthusiast car shop and pay them to give you recommendations or something.

Did you miss the emails prior to delivery that show you the basics of how the car works? And also links to more advanced setup?

No I did not, I read everything. I just expected more. Even a quick walkthrough.

I had to rigmarole the entire parking to find my truck.

Welcome to customer service in 2024. Just be thankful they didn't hand you an ipad with an option to tip 20%, 25%, or 30%.

‘They’ [listing bodies] are entitled to their misclassification. Tesla is more Toyota than Lexus; more Honda than Acura; more Volkswagen than Bugatti. IMO, Tesla’s tech is more about function than opulence.

That’s crazy. I actually felt the exact opposite about the same experience you just described for my model 3 performance, S and Y. In fact, it’s my favorite part of Tesla. I was so happy I didn’t have to negotiate or bullshit with a sleazy scumbag car dealer or get a bunch of random numbers scribbled down on a piece of paper and then 9 hours later in some tiny dealership closet with no windows have the douche bag salesman say “let me fill her up for your boss , congratulations” . Did you show up to the dealerships in like a tuxedo with a bow tie , expecting a handshake and telling them your life story. No thanks, I don’t want to interact with a single human being. I know what I purchased , don’t need the spare keys or any of that BS. The app tells me where my freaking car is .. “accept delivery”. Yup …. K bye-bye I gotta go do other things today. I don’t need to bullshit with a bunch of random ass strangers at the Tesla pick up center. Isn’t there a process in the app to note defects or simply not to accept delivery? Wtf you mean “disrespect ”?. Like they’re supposed to kneel down before you or something in awe of like your life story or how much you like the cyber truck.? What the hell, they’re just a bunch of random ass Tesla employees leave them alone lol . Use your thumb to click accept delivery , then smash out of that place , and go enjoy the rest of your day.Wtf get a life .

My cybertruck was delivered without notice to the end of my driveway in the night while I slept. Went out in the morning to find a locked cybertruck blocking the end of my driveway with no key to be found. My driveway was unusable. Later in the morning someone called to say they had my truck but they needed the combination to the gate to deliver it. I have no gate but I do have a delivered cybertruck. I explained that and in return was told the location of my key. Put in my mailbox in a clear violation of federal law. Four days later I got license plates and temporary registration from Tesla. Four days to get from NJ to Maine, a nine hour drive.
But I love the truck.

The app shows an exact GPS location of your vehicle within a couple feet at worse, and a few inches at best.

I think what you were looking for is a white glove type handoff; and quite frankly I'm glad Tesla isn't trying to blow smoke up a customers butt like other pretentious brands. Tesla's approach to virtually every aspect of consumer automobiles is radically different, and thank God for that lol.

My mistake was driving the DeLorean to the delivery, we spent more time talking about the car than the truck lol
Dude you knew that was going to happen haha! heck of a talking point it is, too
