I'm trying to remain calm....I get a call at 8:50am in the morning from Tesla, telling me that they won't accept me using plaid, the system that they themselves have recommended. I've bought 4 tesla's. They then push my delivery and tell me to wire the money when the bank opens. WTF! Avid Tesla fan to really annoyed, want to cancel the CT and go to another ev. /Vent

That sux, but sure there's a reason behind it, great truck, dont let something so easy to fix dissuade you from an awesome vehicle...my 2 cents. But I do understand it's annoying and I'd be a bit peeved as well. But it's life, if that's the worst of it then you're winning!

My frustration is that you call the MORNING of and change the policy? That's not a great way to do business. I'm going down to the service center to 'talk' to someone and see what they say. I'm just very disappointed in how they choose to handle this.

Yea that all depends on if they sat on that information or if they found out last minute I suppose. It's also possible that if they did know that they don't have an efficient way to comb through or identify accounts that are looking to use plaid or not? or if they can even tell until you attempt to use it vs other methods?

I don't know as i'm still waiting to pay. I get it though...it sucks but seems a little dramatic to threaten to cancel over it. Still 100 times better than a dealership.

Business change how they do business. If one has to cancel on account of this. I don't know. Maybe that is a better thing for all parties.

I used to have to use an Amex at Costco. Now it is a Visa. I didn't cry and whine. I didn't have to go down and see someone about the place I have done business with since 1992 (32 years if one can't add). I said hey that's cool.

I just heard back a few mins ago from my advisor or w/e answers chat. They also confirmed no more plaid for 80k+ cars.

Uhmm.. what exactly is PLAID?

my previous Tesla was purchased thru my own CreditUnion, however I may deal direct with Tesla this time around so I would like to know what I’m getting into beforehand to properly prepare..

Businesses also know of these changes way ahead of time and communicated well in advance to their customers.

Just show up to your delivery appointment with a certified check from your lending bank.

I don't do banking with unknown third party vendors, and you shouldn't either. Hard pass.

Yeah right. Throw a hissy fit. Well warranted.

Like find a real hill to stand on during ownership. Like not covering a part or something. They won't take the money they way I like it seems like a ?.

I just spoke with them, NO CASHIER's check or Certified/Bank Cheque either! ONLY Wire Transfer
I don't know about your bank. But I did a Bank of America wire transfer online to Tesla in less than 3 minutes.
