I don't know about your bank. But I did a Bank of America wire transfer online to Tesla in less than 3 minutes.
Unfortunately, for me, looks like cap1 limits wire transfers to 50k per day and I think tesla requires a single xfer rather than splits? Cap1 will do up to 500k cashiers checks but doesn't sound like tesla accepts those either. Waiting to hear back from chat... might be stuck xfering the balance local.

My bank didn't allow Plaid. Then I tried to send a wire and it was above the limit I was personally allowed to send. The whole thing was a nightmare and took weeks... but my vehicle was delivered and a dud that needed maintenance. So the timing worked out.

Just show up to your delivery appointment with a certified check from your lending bank.

I don't do banking with unknown third party vendors, and you shouldn't either. Hard pass.
This is not an option in all states. Direct-sales are still unwelcome by the status-quo.

I just spoke with them, NO CASHIER's check or Certified/Bank Cheque either! ONLY Wire Transfer
is this true for every location? I stopped by Tesla today and said that I'll have checks for that amount on delivery day and they didn't mention it. Getting financed elsewhere.

chat advisor just told me they would take cashiers check on delivery day. Not sure if these things vary based on location or if one is wrong but... lol
yea don't know why Cashier Check isn't accepted.

Your location says Florida, I assume that's the state you are purchasing in? Last I heard, FL was still allowing direct sales to consumers, no?

Yep, I understand :) they are using different avenues (like Plaid) to complete the process in States that under the thumb of auto-mafia lobbyists.

If I was in a state that didn't allow direct to consumer sales I would strongly considering moving for one lol, but also you can just choose to accept delivery in a neighboring state, right?

I used Plaid to pay for mine. Didn't work. App accepted it, but they didn't get the money. lol. They called me 3 weeks later to pay.
This happened to me too. Turns out the account had gone inactive, so the Plaid withdrawal failed. Went to the bank, got that fixed, got the wire done, and later set up some small auto transfer so nothing will go inactive. (two different institutions, direct deposit into one account at one of them)

IMO the real problem is that Plaid doesn't give any indication to you what happened if it didn't work, nor does the bank.

I had issues when I went to pay but seemed the ACH needed to be removed and re-added for some reason. One thing that occurred was because I was using it to also pay the Premium Connectivity on one of the other cars it was not allowing me to remove it with out picking a credit card to replace the payment for Premium Connectivity. This was not super apparent as the pop up to pick from credit cards had really dark light grey text on black and I was talking to the SA so was mildly distracted. Some one over my shoulder spotted it lol. So yeah sucks when there is a few barriers to entry on seemly simple stuff. But re-adding the bank worked then I was good to go after a 15 minute eye roll session with it.

Something stinks here. They should ABSOLUTELY take a certified check from your bank. If they are telling you this, I would raise hell. The certified check is the way to go anyways because you can go and inspect the truck before handing it over. This is what I did and it's highly recommended.

I had a hard time getting Plaid to work because my Tesla login account didn't have my home address entered. I was having palpitations at the zero hour trying to get the funds transferred for down payment.

Plaid sucks.

When you give them your password—which is a violation of your agreement with your bank—they download all of your transactions and sell your income and purchase history to advertisers. You give them permission to do this in perpetuity, so they'll continue slurping up your data and selling it to anyone who wants it for years afterwards, until you change your password. (If anyone here fell for the Plaid scam, please consider this a sign you need to change your password now, including on any other accounts where you use the same password.)

Most banks now let you initiate wire transfers online; gone are the days where you had to walk into a physical bank branch.

With many banks, wire transfers are now free—I use a Fidelity money management account as my primary checking and this is the case. If your bank charges for wires, you should find a new one. And after you switch, don't go around giving the password to your new account to third party data brokers.

My frustration is that you call the MORNING of and change the policy? That's not a great way to do business. I'm going down to the service center to 'talk' to someone and see what they say. I'm just very disappointed in how they choose to handle this.
And as you walk in the door to the Service Center, sing this song to the tune of Steppenwolf's "Born to be Wild":

Head out on the highway
Lookin' for a problem
Whatever comes my way
Yeah, darlin', gonna make it happen
Take the world in a hate embrace
Fire all of your guns at once and
Explode into space
