Before I get blasted, I still want the truck, it is the best on the market at the current price. Congrats to owners. I may still buy one, but the reservation system means nothing and I might as well take my family out for dinner. At least 1 of 3 things would have to change to help me pull the trigger and for what it is worth I am letting TSLA know.

There may be $100,000,000 sitting on Tesla books as a asset and liability gaining a little interest. This doesn't hurt TSLA but a mass exedus could send the board a message. THE TRUCK IS TOO EXPENSIVE AS IS FOR ME?

The process was easy, they will direct deposit to your checking account.

So politics is a major reason? Seems petty! Tesla has over 140,000 employees and given the state of the political divide it's safe to say the employees are basically 50/50 red & blue. By boycotting based on one man's views hurts more than one man.

1. Politics on Elon will not change because of left's agenda and was a lifelong democrat.
2. Range most likely with not change even with the dry cathode.
3. Lower price maybe with a single motor variant or poor sales.

FYI you are missing out...

Hard to upgrade and tinker with a truck ya don't own. Weren't you the one saying how the secondary battery market would come down the road? So that last point you have either accepted, or just need some personal validation.

As stated, the reservation system no longer means anything. So buy or get your money back. This is not a boycott thread.

For me 1 of 3 things need to change. If I were to rank them, the range/battery is probably the highest. This has been argued to death.

I hate the red/blue crap and we are not supposed to talk politics.

I have been following the CT for a long time and $100 doesn't really mean much. Cancelling was a little hard. You got me, it is personal validation.

As stated, I still want one, and may purchase if 1:3 things change and if it helps your validation I am a little jealous. :)

I know my limits and won't be tinkering with a 800v battery. If Tesla hinted at a path to upgrade the pack or charge on the fly it would help sales. I would put aside my minor political differences and buy.

I like the Cybertruck a lot the moment it drove on the stage on unveil day. Reserved at that moment but seeing it real the size is the matter. Gonna wait for a smaller/mid size Cybertruck-meanwhile, my T$LA will keep growing.

So your current reservation, if you have one, probably won't apply to a "smaller" CT.

The $100 reservations have proven not to be worth much. They may have even be a detriment to value to bring your order in 3 months. I am considering the Scout and the RAM EREV range extended model but won't bother putting down a deposit unless I am ordering.

Politics?

Oh, I get it, you are married! ?

Just kidding! But if Tesla gets the idea that only people that agree with Elon's political views will buy a Tesla, they just might have to increase production plans and sales estimates for 2025 and beyond, based on the most recent landslide election results.

This was a smart move by Elon since he knows that a lot of people that are on the far left already know how much more value a Tesla offers, he's trying to reach the half that has only dipped their toes in the water and who can only buy American. Because they don't make enough Mach-e to transition us to electric cars and the political right buys a lot more trucks than the left.

Aside from trucks, there is a real lack of options of American made electric cars that are available in any number. Yes, the VW ID4 is made in Tennesee, but that's not going to cut it for most people who want to buy "American".

I suspect if you told Elon "The people on the far left have no good options left when it comes to EVs, they are stranded for green transportation options", he would probably say, "Then let them drive Kias".

If I recall correctly, your VW Bus EV conversion gets about 80 miles from 100% to zero, on a good day, if you drive slowly, and it can't use the Supercharger Network (or any DCFC).

That makes me think you are over-compensating on range when you insist that 340 miles isn't enough for you. Kind of like the person who was cooped up in a tiny 2-bedroom apartment who then buys a 5,000 sq. foot home.

"Only" Only a sith lord deals in absolutisms. Red/blue sales motivation for the CT is peanuts..... a red herring.

Elon is about a world reorder, which even he can't truly doesn't understand. It is uncharted territory. UBI, exodus to Mars, digital currency, no vehicle ownership for the masses. (use his Cybercab network)

He had a dual degrees including economics. People should remember that first.

WTF. My bus is a one of a kind toy. It is fun. What is your point?
