Currently I charge my CT to 50% for daily driving and have a schedule set to charge from 12am to 6am, so if I dont drive much during the day and charge from 46% to 50% the charging usually ends early around 4am.. So from 4am to 6am I may lose a percent or two, maybe more if sentry is on..

So if the charger is plugged in should it not keep it charged at 50%, or maybe it perhaps kicks on after a certain amount has dropped? Just not sure how it works..

If I set mine to 70% I wake up and it’s at 70% so I would think it “trickle charges” so to speak to hold the percentage.

We’ve been charging ours to 80%, then drive down to 5-10% before charging. Why 50% idle I can ask?

Calendar degradation is significantly reduced below about 55% SoC. Charge higher if needed, but if you’re only using 20-30% daily then you’re better off with a lower charge point.

Also, the cells prefer a smaller DoD (depth of discharge) so it’s best to charge daily, rather than pushing it lower.

These aren’t NiCads ?

Also doesn’t it say to charge 100% like one time a month ?

Nowhere does this say “once a month”. LFPs are a different story.

Charging to 100% can help calibrate the BMS but is not needed for pack health, and is in fact harmful if left there for extended periods.

The first photo specify the model 3
The second photo specify the CT! Like I said I know how literally ya all can be , I should have said “90%” however it does say under the CT that 100% every once in a while for optimal battery health. Here it is again. Myyyy bad I said “once a week” that is for my model 3 I never said do it all the time I said 1 time a week but again maybe 1 time every once in a while for the CT regardless it looks like not a good idea to charge constantly to only 50%.

No, it says “for optimal battery health, it's generally recommended to only charge it to 100% when absolutely necessary”.

But wouldn’t you want your battery to have “optimal battery health” ?

For my “optimal mental health” I am opting-out of this conversation.

If set to charge to 50%, it generally charges to that number and shuts off. It won't start another charge cycle until it has dropped around ~3% from the set point. If you don't like that, just set it to charge to 53% and then it will start charging again when it drops to 50%.

Common sense tells us that battery data has informed Tesla that it's better if the BMS doesn't itself constantly top up the battery to the setpoint whenever it's 1% low, but to let it drift a few percent below that before topping off again.
