Ok, only had the standard CT for a week and really do love it. Previously had a Defender. Here are my disappointments (unless I'm doing something wrong. I was a lot to get use too with a new vehicle:

1. In my mind, pretty stupid to make you remove hub-caps to add air in tires? Why not an extended air stem or drill small diameter hole in hub covering?

2. No warning chime when going forward or reverse or when someone goes behind vehicle? I have a tight parking space and it takes real care not to hit wall. Am I missing some sort of setting or something?

3. How long do you normally wait for the software for Autopilot? Even my Traffic Light - Stop sign feature not working yet?

4. Is there a Lane Departure Warning somewhere in instructions?

Thank you so much to anyone who has time to respond to above. Drive Safe.

1. Agree. I don't like the wheel covers anyway and THAT is just one more reason to not like them.
2. Mine chimes all over the place while backing into my spot at home. It's annoyingly warning me.
3. I don't know what you are asking. I don't wait on software at all.
4. There IS a lane departure warning. I don't know where it is but mine is enabled... Never knew how much I got over the white line before it was enabled... I'm keeping it on for a while until I get a really good feeling for where Fluffy is in the road. :)

Lane Departure Warning information: Lane Assist

Warning Chime information: Once parking assist is enabled and the OTA update is sent to you, you will get plenty of warning chimes when you approach something in the front or rear of your vehicle.

1. In my mind, pretty stupid to make you remove hub-caps to add air in tires? Why not an extended air stem or drill small diameter hole in hub covering? Agree, I dont use them.

2. No warning chime when going forward or reverse or when someone goes behind vehicle? I have a tight parking space and it takes real care not to hit wall. Am I missing some sort of setting or something? It is called "Park Assist" and uses the vision system to alert you.

3. How long do you normally wait for the software for Autopilot? Even my Traffic Light - Stop sign feature not working yet? Can be up to 2 weeks to get your first update post delivery. Ensure you are set to "Advanced" under the software section.

4. Is there a Lane Departure Warning somewhere in instructions? Yes, Controls > Autopilot > Lane Departure Avoidance and you are given options for "Off", "Warning" or "Assist"

1.) If the valve stem issue bothers you maybe try going without them and buy some center caps that cover the hubs. It actually looks really good that way.

3 & 4 are in settings under autopilot.

I can’t remember how 2 works exactly but I can park this truck in tighter spots than otherwise possible because of the cameras. It wouldn’t fit in my garage otherwise. Use the button on the yoke/wheel to activate the cameras and swipe between forward or reverse. You can see everything in real time which is way better than audible chimes that just tell you that you are close. Get used to using the screen and have the mirrors auto fold, just visually make sure they clear on the way in. This is the way and way better than what you feel you are missing..

Thanks much. What is an OTA?

2. Mine chimes and the screen shows using a hotspot overlay if you are close to something.

3. Looks like you don't have Advanced updates enabled or you haven't driven enough for FSD to be fully enabled?

You need to really explore all the settings for the vehicle, best way is to just go through every screen to see what is there - so many options for setting up everything just the way you want it.

Over the air... That is how Tesla sends updates to our vehicles. You will receive a message on your app when an update is sent to your vehicle for you to install.

You might want to go through the Tesla Tutorials, they don't take long and I generally finished one a day while waiting to pick the kids up from school. They will answer the majority of your questions. Many of the things you're seeking are on the Safety tab.

On software updates, they come when they come. Since you're on a factory build the first OTA can take a few weeks as communication needs to get passed on the Tesla side that the vehicle has been sold, suspect this is tied into registration processing but I'm not on the inside so it's just an informed guess.

Some good points. Highly recommend download pdf of owners manual and review as needed. https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/

Definitely watch the Cybertruck Tesla tutorials.
Do you know the version of software you are on? That will determine if you have park assist (warning chimes) installed/enabled. It's on the main page of the app but scroll all the way to the bottom under the odometer and vin.

Did you buy FSD with your CT? You didn't indicate if you have a Foundation series or Standard version. You did indicate you had a standard CT, my mistake in reading your original post. There is no Autopilot on the CT as of yet, just Traffic Aware Cruise Control.

Wheel covers. I found it's very easy to remove and reinstall them for access to valve stems. Also, there will probably be some sort of aftermarket version with access holes; the aftermarket parts market is in its infancy.

Note that some of the features, such as the obstacle-avoidance chime, are part of FSD. They won’t be available until FSD is installed.

I admit to being perplexed about shipping vehicles with a downlevel firmware. I can understand avoiding the very latest in manufacturing, in case there’s a problem, but surely it’s cheaper for them to install locally rather than clogging up the download servers. ?‍♂

Silly. Silly. This is probably the same experience the first MS / roadsters had “back in the day”.
I expect the CT delivery experience will improve with the 2/3rd generations. Sadly, we have a long time before that happens.
It’s like they re-invent the wheel with every new vehicle they create. Ha
