probably not. load the latest production build when manufacturing and then don't worry about it again.Note that some of the features, such as the obstacle-avoidance chime, are part of FSD. They won’t be available until FSD is installed.
I admit to being perplexed about shipping vehicles with a downlevel firmware. I can understand avoiding the very latest in manufacturing, in case there’s a problem, but surely it’s cheaper for them to install locally rather than clogging up the download servers. ?![]()
Why add items to the pre-delivery checklist which takes more of people's paid time and adds cost/complexity and risk? Heck, I had a nail in my tire, with indicated low tire pressure, when picking up a Model S Plaid. They don't even do the basics half the time. Easier to connect to home wifi and the truck updates itself whenever, no touch. The bandwidth out of the servers is the same whether it's done at the service center or at your home/office.
