Note that some of the features, such as the obstacle-avoidance chime, are part of FSD. They won’t be available until FSD is installed.

I admit to being perplexed about shipping vehicles with a downlevel firmware. I can understand avoiding the very latest in manufacturing, in case there’s a problem, but surely it’s cheaper for them to install locally rather than clogging up the download servers. ?‍♂
probably not. load the latest production build when manufacturing and then don't worry about it again.

Why add items to the pre-delivery checklist which takes more of people's paid time and adds cost/complexity and risk? Heck, I had a nail in my tire, with indicated low tire pressure, when picking up a Model S Plaid. They don't even do the basics half the time. Easier to connect to home wifi and the truck updates itself whenever, no touch. The bandwidth out of the servers is the same whether it's done at the service center or at your home/office.

Some good points. Highly recommend download pdf of owners manual and review as needed. https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/
Or read it on the web browser, because if you download it (I do), you need to check periodically because it DOES get updated. An earlier version didn't mention FSD at all nor even all the Autopilot functionality. And it took some time before the manual was updated to include those anyway. A download is worse because it isn't updated unless you re-download it.

That said, I keep a download of PDF manuals for everything that I have that has them on my phone, it means having it when you need it (the pamphlets for smaller gadgets having long since been lost or tossed).

If those items are worthy of an all-caps missive about your dissappointment when you clearly haven't read the owners manual when stepping up to buy what is generally considered to be the most revolutionary and technologically advanced vehicle available for purchase, we're in for a rough ride.

Ok, only had the standard CT for a week and really do love it. Previously had a Defender. Here are my disappointments (unless I'm doing something wrong. I was a lot to get use too with a new vehicle:

1. In my mind, pretty stupid to make you remove hub-caps to add air in tires? Why not an extended air stem or drill small diameter hole in hub covering?

2. No warning chime when going forward or reverse or when someone goes behind vehicle? I have a tight parking space and it takes real care not to hit wall. Am I missing some sort of setting or something?

3. How long do you normally wait for the software for Autopilot? Even my Traffic Light - Stop sign feature not working yet?

4. Is there a Lane Departure Warning somewhere in instructions?

Thank you so much to anyone who has time to respond to above. Drive Safe.
Some tips to get your truck to update to the latest software.
- Connect it to WIFI.
- Turn on advanced updates. In Controls > Software, you can choose how quickly you want to receive updates that are ready for your vehicle. Be an early adopter by selecting Advanced (which will have additional releases)

Like everyone else has recommended, start going through the tutorials. Better yet, if you know someone who owns a Tesla, have them show you some of the cool things your truck can do.

Sell it so we don't hear u complain
Right? Seems like people really want to complain about the smallest of things and think we want to hear about it! ? like “I just bought this amazing truck I love so much and am so happy with it BUT little Timmy at the delivery center didn’t check my tire pressure”.
If these are your type of complaints most being USER Error then kick Rocks and go buy a Prius

Damn, lighten up Dude. I wasn't complaining. In fact I said I liked the CT. I was just trying to get some friendly feedback from the Forum. Sorry I bothered you.

Lighten up ? ? I mean you did put it in ALL CAPS and I mean a few other comments in here saying the same thing. One might say the peeps making these type of complaint threads might need to lighten up ?? Most if not all
Your complaints are lack of research not CT issues . seems there is an equal amount of complainers as lovers on an ownership site and I find it a little SUS.

All caps "disappointment" is click bait that I fell for. You did very little research prior to posting and the items are minor how-to's. The stems are hidden for aerodynamics, minimal, but there's a reason. Remove the covers, they suck anyways. Or order some aftermarket 22s like I did.

Again, sorry I bothered you. I'm new on the site and only had the CT for a week. I honestly didn't know you had to be a "LOVER ONLY" to post. Personally, I think the title of the post should be in caps for easier search. Sorry this offended you. Be safe and enjoy your CT.

I think the all caps headline makes you come across as more looking like clickbait and less looking for help. And it doesn’t help that you’re asking for help for things so easily found by just looking at the owners manual (which you should know you can find on your CT’s display). It smacks of a teenager yelling for their Dad to tell them how to spell a word instead of looking it up themselves.
