Does basic autopilot exist on both non-FSD enabled vehicles and FSD vehicles?

Curious to hear how basic autopilot is functioning so far on those who have it, and whether you can choose to use basic autopilot on FSD equipped vehicles?

I’m pretty sure you tap/ press the scroll on the right if you hold it down that’s when it activates FSD

I think you meant FSD-enabled vehicles.

My FS CT originally came FSD equipped but the FSD software was not available. I had ADAPTIVE cruise-control, and lane departure warning at that time. Since 10/1/2024 when FSD was released, adaptive cruise-control by itself no longer worked.

I was wondering about this and did some research and what I’m reading is if you create a different profile in your truck with FSD off you can use cruise control. I don’t think you can change profiles while driving though.

standard CC is pretty weak. An auto pilot similar to a Y or 3 would be nice. At least then you could drive on the highway at a set speed instead of wandering up and down. In some ways, my auto pilot in 2019 was a more comfortable ride than FSD is now.

You can switch to cruise control mid drive but it will disable FSD until the end of your trip. I haven’t found a way to get something similar to autosteer without the false awareness alerts.

I’ll sometimes activate FSD when driving without a destination, and it will happily take over.

But if it let go too long, it’ll put on the blinker and I’m like “where is this truck taking me” hahahaha

Huh? That makes no sense. No Tesla come with Standard Cruise Control, all Cruise Control on a Tesla is adaptive. And it will cruise at a steady speed as long as it doesn't come upon slower moving traffic or a tight corner.

Why would you want to travel at a set speed if the traffic in front of you is not going a steady speed?

Appreciate the replies. I will not be getting FSD. Sounds like standard Autopilot is not available as yet.

I still like to drive. Any way to just have lane keeping. When you ge used to it it is dangerous when you no longer have it.
