Tragic Cybertruck Accident in SF Bay Area Kills 3, Injures 1

Seriously folks, it's the grieving parent owner of the Cybertruck that should be facing serious consequences for this needless tragedy due to their reckless behaviour.

They were all 19 if they were class of 2023. The parent could have bought it for the the adult child, but it's still likely the 19 yos responsibility.

Wow this is all bad. Besides the intoxication and reckless driving. Then you have the surrounding environment that's all working against your survival. Stuck between a wall and a tree talk about bad discissions followed by bad driving then even worse luck ending up trapped, then helplessness afterwards. And to top it off the car that stops bullets apparently also stops you from escaping. what a horrible end for the people inside. I know what it feels like to be trapped in a wrecked car and all you want to do is get out because the smell of fuel is very strong, and you can see puddles of fuel on the ground around you. I was lucky it didn't ignite, and I had an escape path. Since then, I always carry a pocketknife in my car to cut seatbelts Thanks to the semitruck driver that hit me he had a knife on him. He T boned me going through a major intersection at full speed I never saw him, and he didn't see me until it was too late. hit me passenger side right behind the door. it hit so hard all of the glass and roof bloow out instantly and just sheared the backend of my range rover off including the top of my fuel tank that was full of gasoline. It opened up like a can opener. Everything from that moment on was in slow motion. It wasn't over yet when he hit me it then dragged me all the way across the intersection to the opposite corner and I can see that I'm heading right toward the street light pole. My wheels hit the curb sideways and folded shot me into the pole it hit right behind the driver door with enough force to make me do a 540 spin off the pole I finally came to rest on the lawn of a business there. I felt no pain, yet my focus was on trying to get out of the car. everything was mangled and smashed no airbags went off from the side impact. The back of my rover was full of tools that got scattered everywhere there was so much damage. If anyone else was in the car with me, I doubt they survive. The only spot that wasn't totally destroyed was the driver's seat. But even the seatbelt release latch was smashed and missing the plastic cover. I was trying to get it to release with no success then I look to my other side and the guy is standing there just looking at me. I say hay you got a knife? cut my seatbelt he pulls out a knife and he's hesitating I say what are you waiting for cut it. with one swipe he cuts it. I crawl out through the window and when i hit the floor that's when the pain started 2 broken ribs and that's all i had one small scratch on my back. I don't know how it wasn't worse look at the pics.

The doors and windows of CyberTrucks and Teslas in general roll down and open when sensors in the vehicle detect it is or is becoming submerged. This safety information generally known about Tesla safety standards.

Well, you can always quit driving/riding in cars! Then you won't get 'trapped' in them and they won't 'flip over' or catch on fire or anything else...

Exactly. That's why my Suzuki Hyabusa is my go-to ride for efficient, safe transportation.

As Cybertruck owners, we have a vested interest in how the vehicle performs from a safety perspective, making this accident a pertinent discussion.

However, speculating about the victims or their families is not salient, and is as best puerile and unseemly. Let us be mindful of these tragic circumstances.

Agreed. It’s imposible for the CT to catch fire and wreck this badly. Musk says it’s the toughest vehicle and there is no resin for him to lie. I smell foul play from those who want to shorten T$LA…..

Several years back there was a similar tragic accident in our neighborhood. Car carrying three kids left a party in the AM and a mile down the road lost control and struck an oak tree broadside at ~ 100 mph. All 3 died on impact. The consequences of their decisions were self-evident. The make and model of the car never entered the reported dialogs appearing in local news and papers surrounding the accident. Why was that ? Well, they weren't driving a Tesla.

The consequences of their decisions were self-evident. The make and model of the car never entered the reported dialogs appearing in local news and papers surrounding the accident. Why was that ? Well, they weren't driving a Tesla.

Exactly. It’s a shame that the press decided to make news on the best Truck on the market. Even if people keep dying because they can’t get out of the CT it shouldn’t be news. It’s their fault and should have trained on how to escape in those situation as I mentioned before. The truck is perfect, the media just wants to smear Elons and Tesla name because they are outselling all trucks on the market….

The other truck rolled rather than came to a stop against a wall. Stopping too quickly is fatal, as is inhaling the results of combustion.

And no, the passengers of the truck in Mexico were in critical condition.

Vehicles can't save you from this sort of crash.
