This was a great experience. I was worried about the ramp more than the road. But the truck performed better than expected on both.

Yep, that is Black Point Marina on Tuesday. Had to try on a day that was not busy.Is that Black point marina? Trees look like main parking lot.
I use to keep a boat on B dock and have used those ramps for over 50 years. Now I keep my boat mostly on the west coast. Black point became famous due to that u tuber! I saw at least six Tesla trucks yesterday in Coral Gables and when I pulled into MIA terminal I was flanked by the darkest black one I’ve ever seen it was so deep of a black it disappeared! Tomorrow when I go for dinner I will be joined by two whipper snapper techie relatives that both have shiny black ones. They are everywhere now and most I see are black or deep brown. Was the boat easy to back on that ramp? Low tide can be rough there!Yep, that is Black Point Marina on Tuesday. Had to try on a day that was not busy.
On two tries that was good! I found it easy to just use my Hummer and open the lift gate so I can see easily like when using a pick up truck to back up into a tight place like a ramp. I will try it in December with the Tesla trucksYep, that is Black Point Marina on Tuesday. Had to try on a day that was not busy.
Holy Crap! 10’ back I guess lesson learned will be leave window down in case you have to jump in! Black Point is famous in you tube videos for people launching their boat and truck into the salt water! Do not want to be famous for first launch of an electric truck into ocean but it’s guaranteed if you do it at Black Point you will be famous! I like the chalk idea so you do not lose ground.Did you not get the warning incline too steep, parking brake may not hold with trailer?
My only complaint about CT really, have to carry a wheel chock for when I launch solo so the whole kaboodle doesn’t end up in the lake. In my ice trucks they had transmission interlock or 1st gear manual to help the parking brake, no such thing on CT
I’m hoping they come out with software fix that will leave it on brake hold when you get out, to fix this and when stopping in a steep area rock crawling to get out and look at the best line. Actually had it roll back 10’ unexpectedly on the trail, lucky didn’t go off the edge, which is why the boat thing worries me, even tho it hasn’t actually slipped, just the warning, which is not confidence inspiring.
Better to use chock anyway, as it could easily save your life.Did you not get the warning incline too steep, parking brake may not hold with trailer?

This is not a fire truck. In 30 years of towing never had to chock on the ramp, or off-road. The risk is once you get out to place the chock, you have to trust the parking brake for those few seconds. That’s more dangerous than having brakes that actually work.Better to use chock anyway, as it could easily save your life.
If your vehicle is telling you that the incline you are currently on 'may' not hold with the parking brake, then it seems reasonable to use a chock. But to each his own ?‍This is not a fire truck. I already said I was using the chock. But that means walking from the driver seat to the chock and then to the wheel without anything holding it. How would you solve this? A software update to keep brakes on just like it does at every stop light after I get out of the seat would be nice right? :-/If your vehicle is telling you that the incline you are currently on 'may' not hold with the parking brake, then it seems reasonable to use a chock. Get a wheel chock with an eyelet, attach nylon rope (15/25 feet should do). Set the chock on the ramp where your wheels would straddle it, back up to your stopping point while holding the rope with the window down, then pull the chock until it's under your driver side wheel. Should be able to see it out the window (door open is more risk, of course).I already said I was using the chock.
