I added a cell booster and the external antenna fits great in the little space where folks install crossbars. If I leave it there with the flap up, will water leak in?

Yes, because that is designed as a wet area. Why don't you put it inside the cabin?

I would say likely not. Resistant, not proof. There's gutters to keep the drips from accumulating.

But that's my non-Tesla experience with having crossbars on my vehicles.

The area below the roof applique trim piece is sheet metal and is Ecoated. All penetrations through the sheet metal is water tight. You could remove the roof applique and it would still be water tight. I've removed the flip up doors for crossbar installation and the tower does not perfectly fill the door hole. I don't worry about water one bit. The pic below is the roof electrical under the front right door.

To clarify both yours and mine responses:
To the thread title: that area is likely not water tight
To the question in the post: likely yes, it will get wet

I don't mind it getting wet, just don't want to damage anything with it open. Sounds like I'll be fine.

No, but just because it isn't in the cab doesn't mean it isn't in the wiring channels or other components. I was asking about leaving the tabs open which I don't do normally, and sounds like I'm OK.
