Cold Air Entering Cabin When Making a Turn

Hello,

Trim: Cyberbeast

Problem: When making a turn, cold air is injected into cabin (appears to be coming from external - temp is around 20 degrees here). Seems to be coming from dash. My wife noticed the same on the passenger side as well.

Only noticed the problem since turning on the heat as the temperature has dropped in Indiana. I did have my front driving unit replaced a couple weeks ago. Did not notice issue prior or in the warmer months (warmer months it would be vice versa scenario = heat injected from external)

Questions:
Before opening a service ticket:
1. Anyone experiencing or have experienced similar issues?
2. Anything to check before opening a service case? e.g. seals, plugs, clamps etc.

Few people know/realize that there is no conventional dashpanel and/or firewall in CT.. top side is basically open only covered by what we see from the inside as the very long dash pad for storing pizzas..

Or maybe it’s a simple as pressing the recirculating butting in the climate menu to close the vent. ??

How much cold air are we talking about? Contrary to common belief, the air in a car is not static/stationary and that accelerating or deceleration in the forward, rear, left, or right will cause the air to move about the cabin. Due to the large dash and it being next to the windshield (which the heater usually is blowing on to save energy) will likely have a cold pocket of air that will swish around the vehicle. It's noticeable in a funny mind teasing physics trick with a balloon shown in this youtube video at about the 2:30 mark:

You could see if this is the case for you by turning on the heaters for the windshield and the heaters in the back seat so the entire vehicle is at the temp you desire instead of just the driver/passenger seating area.

Still a problem that is very noticeable especially with the single / low teen temps. Service appointment scheduled. Will update the thread on the outcome.

I’m having weird issues after my front drive unit replacement as well

I know there is air leakage because when I drive through an area that has a lot of of restaurant smoke even in biohazard mode I could smell the smoke in the cabin

CB - 46XXX VIN picked up in Canada - im having a similar issue - I feel the cold air when I have HVAC off here in Canada - Also my left side door rattles / there is a slight sound when I go over potholes, etc - Any update? Ive got a service apt for Jan 20 that Ill add this issue.
