Here is a more cost effective tool that should work equally as well. I like that lifeline tool, but damn, at $200, it’s a bit steep. Then again, I understand the age old questions “how much is your life worth?”. I am just providing a solution for those that don’t want to go $200 in on a tool that hopefully they will never need to use.

$200 is like, more than 10x what it should cost. It's just a hard point and blade. These are not expensive components.

My claustrophobia says it was worth it! . But dont disagree with your point. I feel better but also understand why others would go a cheaper route like the S&W link above!

I’m sorry to say that Taptes will not cut through laminated glass. If your Tesla is older than 2021 you’re fine, if it’s newer then that won’t help much.

Just ordered the S&W as I assumed my old hammer was sufficient. I am constantly driving where there are "canals" on both sides of the single-lane road with no guard rails (Down east NC where they built roads by digging out the "shoulder"). It's beautiful to not have any obstructions between you and the view of the water, but kinda scary when folks aren't paying attention.

I thought I had what I needed, but was wrong.
