What are the dimensions of the factory? I'm having a hard time "picturing" it. Can someone with some knowhow "overlay" something like a dozen football fields over it to help me visualize this beast. How many floors is it?

The completed Austin Gigafactory will be the largest building in North America by square feet. The 8m sqft of floor space will eclipse the 7m sqft of The Palazzo in Las Vegas.

This guy's numbers are always WAY too optimistic. Anyone who has experience in construction will tell you when a job has 3% left. There's virtually nobody still working there. Maybe the outer shell is 97%, but there's a lot of finish work left. Way too many vehicles still in the parking lot.

I’ve been building my house for the past 3 years or so. It’s been about 80% done for 18 months of that time.

I always joke that when a project is 80% done… that means 80% of the work is left. Seems like the difference between mostly finished and done is always a big gap.

Randy has been AWOL for longest time ever. This was definitely not pre-approved. Did you lose your drone...? C'mon give us a hint. It's okay even if you are out of state.

I work for a huge GC. I think we built the largest factory in CA. The last 5% is definitely the biggest push and often shows the largest manpower numbers to get the job done. Earlier in construction you usually see a lot of workers in 1-3 trades hammering out their scope, concrete, steel framing etc. then they go away at the final push you have 10-15 trades putting a bunch of manpower on to finish. I think seeing a lot of vehicles does show they are nearing the end.

Hard agree. Factories are similar to houses in that way - they get framed and erected in a blink, then sit for months while finish work is done.

Hope his ok.
Miss those daily updates.
Kept me going waiting for any news on the Cybertruck itself.
Was very interesting to see it go up each day.
