@Guylouis

Using your text exactly prompts a FAQ now about the lightbar, at the bottom it says request service. This time it added to my service.

Great! This is like a console video game cheat code you have to hit the buttons in the exact sequence as directed; not “sort of” like it, exactly like it.

I agree with the AI text recognition suggestion. No way they are paying people to respond to x number of requests. Similarly, I wasn't getting FSD software updates on the truck (took delivery October 24) and I found an old early access email that no one thought would work, I did exactly as it said, the next day I received the early access builds and everyone on the forum here said it was coincidence so ty for the post and specific steps. A few mins after doing this in the app, I received the appointment confirmation via email. (clearly automated).

I haven’t noticed any wind noise.(Which I did notice a lot of wind noise on the windshield wiper blade when it’s in the down position today at 85mph). I can see a bit of light haloing on the windshield at 100% if the window is dusty.

I asked about it during my SC visit today in Austin and they told me they were asked to stop installing it since there is a new part coming out, which I believe is this new b-pillar connection one. They installed a few old lightbars but haven’t got any new one yet.

I don’t think that’s correct. It’s not a new part that they need it’s a different installation procedure. Either way I would encourage you to not talk to anyone and just do the process that @Guylouis has outlined, because it works.

Well today was the day for my service appointment from the original post about five weeks ago. No lightbar.

Well, shit. The whole process of rolling out these “included“ accoutrements has been … suboptimal.

They really should do better and provide a consistent, fair and predictable process.

They’ve always had an uncomfortable habit of letting celebrities and influencers jump the line, have red carpets rolled out for them upon delivery and other things that the rest of us just don’t get. I don’t like it I never have.

I’m happy that I have my wheel covers and light bar, but there’s no good reason why I should have it over somebody who got their truck months before I did.

I’ll say it again, and I don’t care which of the apologists want to take issue with it, Tesla needs to treat customers doling out near (or over) six figures better.

For fucks sakes my wife got a big yellow bow and amazing delivery experience on her $10,000 used Nissan Leaf from fucking Carmax! We got a personalized video of her X3 being built from BMW. Even GM understands when you’re buying a Corvette there needs to be some sort of occasion associated with that experience.

“Fuck you, here’s your car,” is not the experience I think most people are looking for.

Yea, disappointed with the circumstances surrounding the service appointment and the damage to the bumper. Nothing like being told 30-40mins. 3hrs later still here, no lightbar but they did increase the psi in my tires by two...thanks.

Seriously...bmw put us in a hotel for our M delivery two years ago...less expensive then the cyberbeast lol

What am I even saying here? The real experience is more like:

“Fuck you, your car’s over there!” ?

I don’t mind this, as it allows me to see reviews and make decisions that I wouldn’t be able to make, by not having access to to the product. And the number of ”influencers” vs regular buyers is so tiny it’s really not an issue.(most companies do this) where Tesla gets it wrong, it how they roll out after, it should just be an ordered line, and you should be able to see your position and an estimated time line. I shouldn’t have had to “Hack” the system to get my light bar, even the SC rep was surprised I got one. I had to bring mine back in a few weeks later, to get a sail replaced, and he had me turn the light bar on, because he hadn’t even seen one connected yet.

I agree with every thing else you said, even our used Lexus came with the giant bow and show room unveiling , pickup. Although I would choose the lack of 2 hours worth of paperwork for the Tesla in app experience, vs the bow. But it could easily be both.

With our last pick up it was actually neither. When my wife picked up her model X in September we were at Tesla for 3 hours! It was outrageous! The worst out of any purchase experience in the last decade and by far the worst Tesla out of five.

The best? Home delivery of my M3P during Covid! They should make that the standard!

After unsupervised FSD is out, it should just show up at your house!
