From grok:
No. Tesla’s FSD transfer program requires you to remain the legal owner of the current vehicle until FSD is removed (up to 48 hours after new delivery). A totaled vehicle passes to insurance, making transfer ineligible. This applies even during the current promotion (new delivery by March 31, 2026) and for Cybertruck purchases with outright FSD.
Insurance typically does not cover FSD value or enable transfer.
Buy back from insurance, park until FSD transferred. Then turn the battery pack and PCS plus the rest of the needed electronics for it to operate as a stationary battery pack for the home.

Part of the reason I'm getting a CT is because I will use it for a battery when the power goes out.

Sorry to hear but glad you’re not injured. Hopefully you’ll replace with another Cybertruck.

Maybe I’ll bump into you…you’re in my family’s neck of the woods (I see it’s the Summerlin area).

That’s probably not a good idea, given the circumstances. Maybe just wave. 😀

Yes I was pulling away from a stop when the light turned greengreen. side cameras showed 2 vehicles beside me also starting to proceed. The Toyota made a left turn 5 seconds after her light turned red, indications showed she actually sped up. I was going maybe 15 MPH, @ 2 car lengths into the intersection. Hit her right side, flipped her on her side and spun her around 180 degrees. The police report actually stated she hit me. Video turned over to NHP and she was sited at fault. I was not using FSD and will always second guess whether that would have prevented the accident. Cybertrucks are tough!

Glad you're safe and the lady too. Too bad about your truck. She's very lucky that her Toyota didn't ignite as there was no easy way to get out. I'd sue her for the FSD if the insurance company won't pony up. Stay safe.

Glad you are OK! It hurts to see a beautiful CT in that condition.

My beloved early Model S was t-boned and written off by some uninsured loser in a rented truck with no insurance. The car saved my life and I'm grateful it wasn't worse.

But next time I'm calling 911 for an ambulance and then my lawyer. I'm done being nice to people who cause this kind of chaos. It cost me money and time that I'll never get back.

Once insurance pays truck off they are owners. If you “ buy it back” you are not original owner anymore, seems like that would negate ability to transfer FSD? Unless you get insurance company to assign title without transfer. That is a reason some damaged vehicles show a clean title when in fact they should be a branded title “salvage”

Sounds like a buy salvage situation and keep the batteries for solar and house backup ; )

there is no way the truck did that amount of damage with you going 15 mph. The damage is square in the middle of the car, And it flipped.
You do not need a lot of speed to roll over if the tires hit the other vehicle. T-Bone then rear tire hitting CT = roll over.

I guess it doesnt matter- vehicle telemetry will be available to any relevant party that needs it im sure. Either way, if she blew the red the OP isnt at fault
