Any updates from anyone? Not hearing anything on my end.....still no info on exact reason or timeline.
No update following a call with someone in Service in Louisville, KY on Monday, 5/11/26. I believe he was being genuine with what he offered. He said the system only showed "Containment hold" and "VSH splay". He said the field that provides direction for the SC was still blank or said "No fix" but he assured me that that only meant the solution hadn't been entered yet. He said he's been doing this for a long time and that Containment hold issues are top priority. He asked that I be patient for a few days. Thats going to be difficult but I plan to try. I googled VSH scaly issue and it appears to be a defect in a data cable that reads power levels. Per Google, it's not uncommon. I know this isn't very comforting but all it seems we can do right now is wait.

Thanks for the feedback. Can't help but hope there is a quick resolution coming.

I've been waiting for my Premium AWD vin for a while now. I ordered mine on March 9th and still nothing.
At least I'm not the only one. I don't feel quite as singled out now lol
Also still waiting. They are now saying the last half of June. 3 months after first promised. I'm already very pissed off about the delay.

When I asked Google "On a Cybertruck, what does "VSH Splay issue" mean?" I get referenced to this thread only. No other links listed.

Here is what Grok says...

**VHS splay (likely "VSH splay" or "VSH terminal splay")** refers to a manufacturing/quality issue with the Cybertruck's high-voltage battery system, specifically related to the terminals or harness in the battery pack.

### What it is:
- **VSH** probably stands for something like **Voltage Sense Harness** (or a similar high-voltage sensing/monitoring component in the 4680 battery structure). Tesla uses these for monitoring cell voltages and overall pack health.
- **"Splay"** or **"terminal splay"** describes terminals (electrical connection points) that are improperly spread out, misaligned, or deformed during assembly. This can affect secure connections, insulation, or reliability in the high-voltage battery system.

This has caused **nationwide delivery holds/containment** on some Cybertrucks (especially recent 2026 models) in May 2026. Service centers inspect affected vehicles, and Tesla HQ provides guidance on fixes. It appears to be a specific batch-related manufacturing defect, possibly in the battery harness. Not all trucks are affected, but it led to temporary pauses while procedures are standardized.

### Context:
- Owners report delays of days to weeks while awaiting inspection or parts.
- It's tied to quality control on the structural battery pack, which is a core (and complex) part of the Cybertruck's design.
- Similar issues pop up occasionally in EV production for high-voltage components to ensure safety and performance.

If your Cybertruck is on hold for this, contact your delivery center—they should have more VIN-specific details once HQ updates the ticket. It's a relatively contained issue being addressed at the service level.

Bad info.

That's not the issue where CTs are waiting for 14.6 before they can be released. Grok literally posted that from here and TMC from a few owners saying they thought that could be the issue.

Yeah, unless it’s from Tesla or a reliable sources, it’s not the truth. You have to ask AI for references to see where it’s getting data from. A lot of it is this forum, facebook posts, reedit and so on.

You cannot trust Grok (or any LLM) on things like this. It wants to be helpful and give you an answer. It will not simply tell you that it doesn’t know. In order to achieve its mission it will predict words that make sense and sound perfectly reasonable but are completely fabricated. We call this hallucination and it is an unavoidable feature of how LLM’s work.

Cybergus has resolved the Cybertruck containment hold. He has complete knowledge of the issue and should be contacted.

Or, as far too many lawyers continue to need to learn by getting sanctioned and chewed out by judges— completely fabricated! If you don’t already know the answer it is a very bad idea to put your faith in an LLM. They are not search engines!
