Who the hell is coming up with this crap?
First of all, discomfort was reasonable because it’s my disengagement reason around half the time. I’m cognitively aware FSD can probably navigate some of those scenarios safely albeit awkwardly and not particularly politely some of the time but I still disengage because I don’t “like” how it’s handling itself on my behalf. While I know it can likely make it through said situation “safely” it’s frequently not the SAFEST option.
Parking is something they should be able to
collect data on by comparing where it thinks it ought to park with what selection the user makes on the screen instead. When it almost hits a supercharger or stops 4 ft short of the cable being able to reach the charge port or tries to curbrash my wheels I’d say that’s “critical”
“navigation” is not detailed enough to describe the dumb navigation decisions it makes sometimes which are highly variable.
And “other” is I guess sort of acceptable as a “fuck you tesla” button instead of preference. Not sure what that changes that merits renaming.
Thoughts?
Good data depends on asking the right questions and my impression is that this is far from it. As it stands it’s producing a lot of driver inconvenience and annoyance that’s potentially detracting from safety through distraction for what I think will amount to no improvement due to unreliable data.
