I can send you the STL if you’d like.

That design looks like a large static cantilever load from the mirror unless the mirror weight is carried by the monitor, but if that is the case then you couldn’t reposition the mirror. There would also be dynamic/vibration load on that joint.

Yes? I’m sure there is a better way/design but this is working for me. The mirror is attached via a ball so you can move the mirror as much as you’d like.
if it fails at some point I have ideas for how to improve the design but I’m running with it like this for as long as it lasts.

How did you power the mirror? All of these cameras have wiring harnesses that cut off the right pillar speakers. I have two sitting in my garage waiting a solution. A couple forum members have posted alternative powering schemes but I’m hesitant to do that on my own.

This is the hannshow V1 mirror that got the power from the GPS antenna location. I don’t think this one cuts off the right pillar speaker.

Yeah, as you pointed out, that one messed with GPS accuracy. It seems all these aftermarket items are a solution searching for better execution. Oh well.

Just to clarify a bit more, the GPS issue was the wiring extending into that area. Doing it the way I did, I have no wire in that area at all. I extended the power cable through the headliner to the a pillar across the dash and into the mirror. So no GPS issue and no power issue for the pillar speaker. Solved all of my issues with the V1 mirror.

Very innovative mounting solutions fellas!

I’ve been looking at the Tlyard 11.26” 2.5K camera but I few things are holding me back:

1) Cost, these are not cheap and certainly WAY more expensive than it would take Tesla to develop a solid rear view screen solution in a mirror housing.

2) I’ve heard the service center will not provide cleaning of your front cameras if one is installed and may give you a hard time with warranty if anything fails in the GPS/mirror/camera area.

What I would love to see, since I’m a big fan of their products, have their Commander/Stalks in my M3P, is for Enhance Auto to release products for the Cybertruck and incorporate a high quality rear view camera & mount for the roof with their S3XY Dash product. If they could do this with a Sony STARVIS 2 IMX675 camera, I don’t think they could keep them in stock. Don’t need a front camera, just rear, incorporated into the S3XY Dash. Of course, good software integration would be key but they’ve been great in the past and they listen to feedback and provide timely updates/fixes.

Maybe we should start a petition with Enhance?

They have already said CT development isn’t possible for them because it isn’t sold or available in the EU for them to use as test mules. Unless you are willing to gray-market a Cybertruck to Bulgaria, I don’t think we’re getting their stuff. I have the S3XY buttons in my MY and love them, but when I asked about the CT they replied no way.

I've heard that also but in their 2024 Cybertruck videos, they must have had their hands on one at some point. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll open a branch office in the US to perform development. Not a show stopper but I do like their products.

I recently updated by rear display mirror to a custom 14” super wide monitor, with a custom 3d, printed case, it replaced the factory mirror mount, all wires hidden. I was going to do a write up on it. But after about a week of driving, I think the weight actually pulled my front FSD cameras out of alignment, calibration did not fix it. Had to set up a SC visit. So I removed the display for the service, and after a complete reboot and calibration and a day of sitting, it’s working again.

Anyway, I’m also looking for a new place to mount the display and was thinking this same place. But don’t love that I can’t hide the wires or make it look factory. How are you liking the location.

Loving it. The only wires are right behind it hidden by the display.

I still like mine just above the screen, mounted to the dashboard tray.
