It honestly looks like the same exact plugs as the other tesla's

You have to get the mirror tap ultra small blades and it slips in
turns off when car is off and when you put your foot on the brake turns on

will do a video on it soon

Interesting thread here.
I’ve had Bel, Escort/Passport, Valentine One (x2), and two Unidens over 20+ years.
I’ve driven between Philly and NC (The Outer Banks & Charlotte) a few hundred times over 1980’s, 1990’s and early 2000’s to visit family. Here’s a few points I’d like to contribute;

  1. I believe the gentleman in San Francisco misunderstood (at least initially), that radar detectors are LEGAL in 49 States (yes, even Kalifornia). It’s only in Virginia (& DC) where I had a problem due to them being illegal there. I had to remove/reinstall the detector at the State lines every time. PITA. I did a quick check and this resonates for those interested.
  2. I lived in Kalifornia for 13 years, in the Sacramento/Bay Area area. The cops do run radar against citizens, mostly Ka Band, but a few local PD municipalities still run K band radar also.
  3. The amount of knowledge, time and effort put into the electronic voltage, fuse discussion is impressive. It’s way over my head, but I look forward to the final outcome.
  4. Question: since the CT has a limited rear view, and even more so with the tonneau cover closed, would that impact any detector that had radar horns pointed to the rear and remove or weaken the functionality of rear arrows? I ask because I am consdiering just using my Uniden R3 (has rear horn but no arrows) in the CT versus my R8 (has arrows).

Yep… it’s line of sight. The higher the frequency, the more direct view it needs. High gigahertz can penetrate glass but that tonneau cover will likely block it. Some radar detectors have remote sensors you can plug in. If you look at Uniden R7/8/9 they have long range capabilities and you might be able to pick up bounced radar from behind…

OK. Let's start with there has to be 12v at the trailer lights connector or we can't tow anything.
There is a 48v connector under front bucket. Buy a golf cart 48v to 12v converter, $20 on ebay. Run ur wires anywhere u want.

There is no 12V power anywhere on the truck. It has a 48V system. There are 110 plugs in the cabin in the center console, under the rear infotainment system and in the ceiling for possible light bar installation. Whatever equipment you have will need a 110 plug. Another option would be to buy a 12V to 110 adapter.
You are wrong. There is a 12 - 14 volt circuit in the rear view mirror console that can be tapped into.

At the time that statement was made, no one had removed the rear view mirror console so I had no idea 12V power was available. If you go back to the original post, you’ll see that no one else mentioned that area as a 12V source because it was unknown but thank you for correcting me 5 months after the fact when it’s common knowledge.

Lol! It's still not common knowledge, but it's getting there. Have a good day!

There is video showing the 48v wires in frunk . I bought a 48 to 12 inverter off ebay. They are for golf carts.
The video said those wires were controlled from screen. I'll be on it when mine arrives.
Also. The guy installed big light bar

NO 12v on truck. Period
I installed 12v light bar up front by getting a golf cart 48 to 12v step down transformer. Very easy.
I'm installing a roof light bar next week the same way.

I just received the Tesla 2nd gen air compressor for $110. It says to "connect to your vehicle's 12V port". None of the online pictures for the compressor show the connector. Somehow, my mind thought USB connector. It has a really cool black square look with a built-in digital pressure display. Turns out the connector, it is the old cigarette lighter style connector. As far as I know, there are close to zero Tesla's made with a female cigarette lighter connector. WTF! Why bother with a cigarette lighter connector?

The air compressor needs 90 W. I could go the 48V to 12V or the 120v to 12v cigarette connector. I'll be able to use on the CT, but not the Model 3. USBs don't deliver enough power for an air compressor. Anyone with better ideas?

The other cars use standard 12v accessory outlets so yeah, like the old lighters. The accessory outlets have the advantage of hiding some electronics (like the fuse) inside the panel giving a more flush install of say, voltage meters, usb ports.

But the Cybertruck has its own kit, doesn't it?

Tapped into the white connector for three days. Then all of a sudden it stopped providing power to my radar detector. No errors that I can see, even in the service menu.

The OBD plug provides 12v power as does one of the jumpers in the right passenger footwell as does the camera plug on the drivers side of the camera housing as shown in some of the above posts.
no 12v in the truck period is not a correct statement.
