Absolutely correct, if you must finance (as most people do) this is the better approach.
Have a payment that you can comfortably afford and then if you have the opportunity make larger principal payments along the way. If things get a bit tight you can always drop back to the standard payment...
I found a tail gate pad from a Colorado company called Send It, one of the Amazon reviews for it showed it installed on the CT... it has a slide down panel that allows the rear view camera to work while it's in use.. so I ordered that.
I know it's possible to just throw a blanket over the...
This is an unusual strategy. For starters, making pre payments doesn’t reduce the interest paid, paying down principal does that.
Rather than making a large advanced payment you would typically be better off making the payment you are comfortable with and paying off extra principal as you can...
I think it was already announced that all sales through the end of the quarter of all models get three months of free supercharging and three months of FSD.
There's no indication that the 2025s get anything other than a different year in the paperwork.
So, from a resale perspective you'd rather have a 2025 even if they are identical?
If you lease vs cash or finance it won't matter... although Tesla might slightly improve lease terms in the last...
Went to the delivery center today hoping my 50,8xx CT with tactical gray interior and all terrain tire package would be there early.
Sadly it's still on the train but hopefully I get it in a few days.
Interestingly there were two VIN 52xxx vehicles that were built 11/18 already there, not sure...
You can change it later. Just message them in the app, etc. When they approve it they will make sure you're approved for the payment amount that you apply for.
Unfortunately it would just be cosmetic things that you don't believe they can sort out easily or in a reasonable amount of time.
I say cosmetic things because you aren't allowed to drive/test the car before taking possession of it and the delivery centers are terrible at catching...
Makes sense!
I'm scheduled for pick up, hope I don't have to reject mine. No idea what QC is like right now but I drove two different recent production vehicles and they were as close to perfect as you're going to get from Tesla.

Depends on how many were built/delivered in late 2023 but yes it appears that they will have built over 50K units in 2024 for sure.
I know some want a 2025 VIN, but as I don't anticipate any real changes I'm not too concerned about it.
My understanding is that CT will not get the new cells with the domestically sourced components until middle of next year, so that's likely the earliest it would qualify for the tax credit.
If you lease the CT (which I am doing to lock in the residual value of the truck) then you get the $7500...
The only reason to prefer a 2025 is that it might have slightly better resale based on model year number if you re-sell it quickly, like in 2-3 years.
Functionally it's going to be identical to 2024s currently being produced since Tesla almost never adds specific new things during model year...
Also worth pointing out that if you put the same $18,500 down on the CT and pay all other costs out of pocket, on a five year auto loan at 5.5% interest rate, the monthly payments will be $1800!
If you have sufficient income to be approved for financing with no money down the payments would be...
