I mean, the meaning was to figure out what people are buying to see where this model is going. So far 0 basic orders so that could be saying something (although not true, I've read of a few buys so far) but if we don't have a good sample set then the results are meaningless.
Edit: I'd say...
Based on your analysis and sentiment, the basic model is exactly what you need. A lot of your reasoning on individual items says you don't want it. You missed towing but if you didn't mention it's likely you don't need it. Order soon!
Exactly! Although I sometimes wonder how many of them go home and excitedly tell their parents they saw a Cybertruck and the driver honked at them, only to get a lecture from their mainstream media fed parents that Elon is the worst person in the history of the universe 🤣
But I digress, kids...
Exactly. Both will get you from A to B in a shiny triangle. Depends what other comforts and conveniences you want. I look at it the other way, the basic version is lacking a lot of solid features that I wouldn't want to live without.
True. The landing page doesn't have anything in the yellow banner yet like limited time offer. Even if it does go up after 10 days, since they're comfortable at this point initially then it could easily come back down again.
Glad to see you got your order in though! It'll be a long 3+ months...
Or it's actually a really nice game for those who wanted something cheaper, they now know they better buy soon to get the intro price. I know if I wanted the basic version I'd be happy to get a temporary lower price.
Did Tesla remove all the extra features last night? 🤣
Agreed it is a great deal.
I think most people with premium wouldn't want all the downgrades:
No air suspension
No second row screen (huge if you ever have backseat passengers and take long trips, or kids)
No ventilated seats
Lacking bed...
They're really positioning the Cybertruck in line with the fleet that will remain past this summer. The order page looks more like 3/Y than S/X, whereas before today it was the opposite.
Now that AWD basic is available, and since Tesla doesn't provide trim selection statistics let alone actual Cybertruck sales numbers, let's see what everyone went with here so we can see the breakdown across the 3 packages.
Please vote only if you ordered on February 19th or after.
Did anyone...
Q1 will be decent now. Not huge, but it'll get a few thousand bump by those who've wanted one but couldn't afford. Long term this won't translate to much. People either hate the style, don't hate it but don't want to be judged by their neighbor/spouse/whoever, or don't realize there's a cheaper...
