Someone have an idea of what this is? It looks like a casting… but none we’ve seen before.
Fooled too many times to leap to any assumptions.
EDIT:
@ED_SFO posted some Model X images and it’s almost certain that’s what this is.
You can see it in motion on video:
PS: It’s not a...
Just love so much how this looks with colorful lighting. Also answers a bunch of questions.
Looks like a beta truck. Has no door handles, no passenger side mirror, original wheels, the light bar is on, and apparently the wiper has been removed.
Awww snap. Chased it down it is older...
Congrats to @greggertruck and @John K (and anyone else who sneaked in) for managing to snag their Model Ys at the 52 week Low.
That’s right… prices went up by another $500 and are unlikely to come back down for a while.
If you haven’t gotten one yet, there seem to be a lot of Texas made 4680...
Ok… earnings call is coming up. What are your thoughts on what we see?
The growth numbers were a bit low in sheer volume, but Sandy Munro seems to think margins are going to be sky high. We also have the potential for a big positive surprise with (potentially) high margin megapacks making some...
Tesla posted this cool blurb about Track Mode and I instantly thought about what this might mean for the Cybertruck. What kind of crazy off-road specific tweaks could they put in there for off roading aside from the track mode specific stuff?
(The second one demos the things you can tweak for...
This is a huge drop for some Models, the Model Y LR is now $53k putting it under the limit to get the rebate.
Model 3 is down to $43k which puts it just over $36k after the rebate.
Pretty awesome. We’re going to see a pretty massive wait list again.
Title says it all.
The big question is who is getting it. Strong chance it’s Tesla.
The next biggest question is (assuming it is Tesla buying it): For what?
Buzz is it is for their Gen 3 vehicle. If this is the case, it would be massive news. Tesla doesn’t ship these until they are ready...
Since it’s launch, the least expensive Model 3 has closely followed the price of the average car. Within $300 in fact. This is not a coincidence.
My feeling is Cybertruck will be priced the same with one small alteration. The short range Cybertruck (single motor or maybe dual motor) will be...
Seems increasingly likely we’ll see at least a few trucks roll off the line this year so I thought a thread where we make predictions about how this all plays out. My predictions are about just the Tesla stuff I think will happen that impacts the Cybertruck, but you can go more broad if you...
This should be enough for 600 - 700 dual motor Cybertrucks or perhaps 350-450 tri motor trucks.
We’re getting there. Just need another order of magnitude faster production. Should be enough capacity for 1000 trucks a week by the time production starts. I think they will start building a...
They are adding 4x the square footage to their Fremont 4680 production. I think they had about 10-15 GWh/ year planned capacity in their existing facility, this will bring their Fremont production up to 50 GWh (eventually).
When this was posted on Twitter Elon “liked” it which is close enough...
Elon was super chatty with investors on a Twitter Spaces conversation today. Jordan (aka The Limiting Factor on YouTube) summed it up super nicely. This was more informative than a typical EOQ earnings call. Musk was more engaging and much more relaxed sounding.
It was long so here is the...
As we start to see what might be the first of the “beta” trucks and deliveries are starting to look possible next year, I thought it might be a good time to review past launches and see how the delivery timeline played out. I didn’t capture all of the dates, but I think I found the most...
Anyone interested in a slightly used Rivian?
https://tiremeetsroad.com/2022/12/19/rivian-r1t-owner-accidentally-rolls-ev-truck-warns-rivian-truck-owners-will-roll-easier-you-expect/
It should be pretty tough to do this, but the owner says it wasn’t that crazy and it looks like it happened on...
Saw this crazy video from the IIHS where they loaded up an F150 with concrete and smashed it into their test wall at 40MPH.
These guys were just testing their system out to ensure it could handle the weight, but seeing what this load did to the cab of the truck was … stunning.
That white...
After some weird round and round where SD said they weren’t supplying Tesla “but would love to”, Tesla says they are indeed using Steel Dynamics.
EDIT: THIS POST WAS CORRECTED BELOW. READ THE WHOLE THREAD.
