This isn’t political per se. but as we all know, all of our cyber trucks have had a rapid depreciation due to the non Tesla related antics of its CEO. If I’d have known this is where we’d end up, despite the fact that I love my truck, I wouldn’t have bought it. Now I can’t get out of it because it’s worth less than I owe. Curios if any attorneys on here think there is a class in the making.

You perhaps shouldn't have bought if you would potentially be upside down on it. I traded in my existing truck and paid down aggressively so far, so despite any possible depreciation, I have plenty of equity. And I doubt it's as bad as you think. These are solid vehicles.

My wife totalled our FDN AWD and I was pretty upside down but thanks to GAP I got out without too much pain… progressive offered me 83k ACV and I think I could have got 75 Private Party. Trade in is in the 70k range depending on miles.

If you didn't play on your truck dropping at least 20% in value then you are at fault. The truck has actually held it's value better than many thought considering the drop in pricing from FS to non-FS.

This sounds like a political issue for you.

sooo, not the point I made. I’ve asked Tesla to buy the truck back per the ban on selling it within 12 months and they are silent. No number has come back yet. And it’s great that you have plenty of equity, I don’t. And now the truck is depreciating at a rate far faster than it was before. No one could have anticipated what is going on with Tesla re its stock price nor the resell market. And let’s not pretend than non Tesla related actions are having a substantial impact on both.

There is no ban. Tesla just isn't taking trade ins.

You don't seem to have any substance to your claim. People are selling CTs used for 75k+ as of today. That's far better than average new car depreciation.

What basis do you think a lawsuit is warranted?

What depreciation? All used CT’s listed on Autotrader are about $79k at the lowest. What’s going to hurt you the most is the EV tax credit unless you got it at purchase. I can’t believe there’s a used dual motor CT for more than $70k considering a brand new one is technically $73k.

Every single EV drops instantly dude to the credit. Then you add typical 15% depreciation. You should have been on the Lightning forums, especially after the first price drops. Some people ate it really bad.

That said, send me over your price if you think your CT is worth under $70k and that’s what you’re looking to get rid of it for.

You know I’ve been buying 100 K plus vehicles for the last 20 years and I’ve just come to understand that no matter what all vehicles will depreciate badly at this level

Unless you’re buying hyperinflated Porsches. And there, the irony is you’re paying 150,000 for a 911.

Are you serious? Class action for depreciation on a car? I've seen some ridiculous posts on here, but this one is in a class of its own.

depreciation highly depends on how much of owners' money is sucked into it during ownership-as EV do not cost much to own-it's depreciation is much slower.
Now, check the depreciation of your Conviction in Life. Does political events are chickening or swaying you? Make sure don't let anybody Hijack your Emotion-enjoy the amazing/iconic vehicle on the Planet.
