:ROFLMAO:. Here's the thing though. I own the wiring for those heated seats and all the connectors. If i solder my own connection to use them, I can and should be able to. Explain to me how that's stealing.
Thank you! That's literally what I'm trying to explain here.
But I also think we...
I want to be the person who does whatever the hell they want with what they own. I can't steal something that I own. I bought a laptop that physically had 2 RAM slots.
If i wanted to solder another USB port to it, I should be able to, it's my f-ing motherboard now. Am I explaining this...
For real? Not even remotely the same thing. I can pay a 3rd party to put in accessories, like heated seats or even ventilated seats. But why when the hardware is already there? This isn't me running/bypassing Tesla's software.
Here's an example that maybe helps a little bit. I bought a laptop...
Adam really is the one at fault. He ruined everything! :ROFLMAO:
Yeah, I was trying to get away from FSD to see if others can see the difference I was trying to lay out. I agree 100% that FSD is an IP thing cause you're using their servers and machine learning to, essential, run it. But, stuff...
So, technically, everything Rich Rebuilds has done is illegal and that one youtuber who made a truck out of her model 3. I remember the days when RIAA was trying to get legislation passed and suing everyone and that lead to how we got DCMA.
This whole thing is a "right to repair" issue, in my...
Yep, this is where the debate is. Should you have the right to pay for services (3rd party) to unlock something you own?
Should it be unlawful to do? Nope!
I guess I'm wrong, lol. DRM'ing heated seats is apparently protected by law and people seem to think that's ok, because DMCA. Philosophically and socially, I won't comment on my view of the matter any further. DRM prevents people from truly owning their own devices.
Is it stealing though? I mean, I bought the car. It came with the hardware and it has the capability to be turned on. I own it, Tesla doesn't. Not my problem if they installed the feature, but locked me out. I don't see how that's stealing at all.
60-90 days is hilarious to me. I guess it could be true if they deliver one within 90 days. Even day 2 reservation won't see it until next year. I've got an 05 Tundra that's waiting as well, but it's only got 120k miles on it, so no hurry there. Day 1 reservation here. I'm not expecting to see...
I wonder what the people working there think of this thing. Do some just look at it and think, "we're actually making this thing?" I love it, but I know a lot of other people don't. I really like how this is becoming more and more normal. Can't wait until they've made so many, they can't store...
