Exactly, this is about as low risk ($250) risk as you can get, hell even most of the time Tesla will give you that $250 back if you cry enough or transfer it to another purchase.
The "ventilated seats" are nonexistent in the current CT, a few people have gotten lucky but mine and many others are basically zero. Don't think they are like a M3 or MY which are like lvl 9, CT on max is like a lvl 2 hard to tell it is on, especially in FL summers.
Mine is fine for hand tools, sports equipment, etc.
But transporting soft luggage, electronics, etc is a NO-GO with how wet and dusty it gets back there.
The 3part cover on my Tacoma was WAY dryer and that thing was a $199 addon so the fact that the VAULT gets dusty and wet is a bummer.
Yea the "Vault" does not keep out dust or WATER
A few of the very new ones the seals are better, or in place, but of the first 40k trucks or so the back vault is about like a standard truck bed with an old tarp over it.
It will happen eventually, enough people will be hot enough with sweaty enough backs that it gets done, hopefully Tesla addresses it early instead of later like the cantrails so folks don't have custom seat colors etc then have to get seats swapped or messed with.
They built the truck to sell at $80k with 500kwh of range, they are selling the same truck with about half the battery pack so pretty sure they are doing just fine on margin.
My last trip to service center the tech who worked on my vehicle told me they were getting a lot of complaints (now that it is warming up in the South) and that it would likely be an option to have fixed in the near future. Who knows, but it is needed.
Yea hoping one of these YT guys will do it, or hopefully Tesla realizes that they shipped 40k CTs with advertised but not actual Ventilated seats and offers an optional recall or at least fix for more $$
Yup down here in FL the CT ventilated seats on full blast are barely noticeable.
Wife's MY I get COLD if I have them above lvl 2
REALLY need a fix from Tesla or the aftermarket on this
Range numbers when towing will not change, towing difference is due to suspension/wheel difference.
At 60k ifyou have been waiting I would say now is the time.
Agreed, people who wrote the CT off in their mind as "100k is way more than I can afford" are going to take longer than 10 days from NOT thinking about buying it, to getting everything in order to buy a new vehicle. If it is only 10 days it will only work for the people on the fence already and...
It is the upgraded bed, it will allow for hauling of dirt, hey, gravel, etc without trashing compressor area or getting stuck on top of battery pack or in diaper.
