I figured I'd point this out. Not sure it really matters to me at this point since my mind is made up on my Cyberus but I noticed something strange with the dates.

I ordered a soon as I got the email at 9:30PM central and got this email at 9:50.

This is what I see in my app.

Just figured with the amount of orders and the seemingly extremely low production rate at the moment that could potentially have a big impact on delivery date.
Same here, email invitation to build at 9:30 central on the 8th. Order confirmation email received at 9:36 central. Range extender order confirmed at 9:35 central. I must be close to the first person to react that quickly…

App says the order date was the 9th.

Anyone else feel like there's some magical formula that will determine when you'll get your email or truck?

A = starter RN number (112744100)
B = my RN number
X = cancelation, non-CT factor (.8)
S = state multiplier (TX and CA = .1, other = 1)
D = number of days since first delivery
T = number of Teslas purchased
R = production ramp curve (I dunno some ramp bell curve thing... math is hard...)

((B - A) (X)) (S) - ((D/R)/T) = where my email at, Santa!

If roughly 25% of people are buying the Range Extender what does that tell you?

It tells me people REALLY want more range. And most of the people with orders are long-time Tesla owners who understand range needs. How high would that number be if it was built in instead?

IMO, the RE is a poor solution with too many compromises and very expensive per kWh. Sure, it's better than no option, but I sure hope they offer a built-in version ASAP. However, I'd assume that's at least a couple years out...

This sure seems like an awful long list of orders for what I think is a VERY small fraction of people ordering outside the knowledge of this forum... what's the percentage of people on this forum to initial reservations I wonder?

the formula is more magical than all that, apparently

RN 1204 (placed 3 weeks ago) and he's already configured a prior truck 19 days ago

I wouldn't read to much into that, it's likely just an artifact caused by the time being saved in UTC time zone. Alot of database entries use UTC for DateTime fields. If the web interface doesn't translate the datetime output to your timezone then it can look off based on your time difference to UTC.

FYI, the order date for mine is also set to the next day and I am 99% certain this is the cause.

You can inspect your order agreement pdf to see the exact time your order was placed. Mine was 6:26 PM Pacific Time --
