I will say I'm bummed about the prospect of lacking a display behind the steering wheel. The earlier prototypes had one.

My brief experience driving a Tesla was in a Model 3, and kept looking under the wheel to check my speed. It's perfectly visible on the center screen but I prefer to just glance downward.

A 285/65/R20 is 34.6". If it was a 20" wheel, then the tire size would be closer to 35's.
He said all variants would have 18" wheels I believe.

Exterior dimensions (estimated) Dimensions (+/- 2 inch leeway):
  • Wheelbase: 145”
  • Length: 231”
  • Width w/o mirrors: 84”
  • Height: variable (air suspension)

My Lightning is 232.7" long. I thought CT was initially going for that and then decided making it 5% smaller. It seems like longer bed floor is due to the slop of what is separating the cab from the bed so if the back seat area is as small as we have seen, that 231 may not be correct (too long).

It was a good watch but if he is right and dual motor is going to start around $80K, pending range, I may be priced out.

It all sounds good to me. I don't need sail storage, bed width isn't super important for me. I think he's off on the price estimate. Tesla will make it qualify for tax credit. I want the big range version because i'm sure all terrain tires will eat into that and I'm not getting street tires.

People freaking out about his price speculation, he was saying the TOP model would be 90-110k. That's normal. Pickup trucks serve a VERY wide base of customers. They are both work beaters and America's luxury car. I know far more rich people that drive a blinged out truck than a Mercedes or Bimmer. It's somehow more socially acceptable. What Matty said was the top model will play with the Raptors, etc, which makes sense. It's a small part of the truck market but a fairly large market in real numbers, and it's high profit. He also said there would be the base or dual motor variant that will be more affordable. It will probably start in the $60-70k range for now. The average pickup price is $46k, so not bad to pay for a much better vehicle and no massive gas bills. Tesla probably won't bother with the entry level part of the market for some time as they build up capacity and sell higher-margin trucks for a bit. I can see down the road them revisiting the Single motor option, maybe with a few blingy features taken out to get the price down.

It makes me wonder, What options are available? White interior? Different Wheels? Maybe the winches and other accessories at order time.

Then why are you here
I'm here for multiple reasons. We have speculated for a long time (and it was fun for a bit), but after speculating for over 3 years now, it is just exhausting, and I know we are ALL ready to see the final specs on this beast, rather than what people THINK this will have.

The main reason I am here is for ideas AFTER I receive my CT. This whole forum will change once we have our CTs in hand and want ideas for upgrades, how to get maximum efficiencies, hidden easter eggs, how much range people are ACTUALLY getting on a charge, etc.

Top spec was announced at 69k right? For Tri-motor? If we take the plaid model S adding another motor for 20k, that. would put. quad motor at 89k (not too far off) but we dont know if quad motor will exist at all.

If its starting at 60-70k for the dual motor thats a pretty big upswing.

The issue is, this guy is comparing tot model X. But at announcement, it was more model Y
