We got our model 3 a few weeks ago and you do get used to it fairly quickly. The only thing that I wish I had a front display for would be navigation directions when I don't know where I'm at. I'm sure there will be plenty of aftermarket screens available though just as there are now for the Model 3 and Y.
Eye roll. An entirely new market segment wringing their hands about the lack of a hud/steering wheel screen. Seriously, ask any of the four million people who drive model 3/Y vehicles: it does not matter. It is fine. You will not miss it.

If I hear the word raptor one more time.... lol

It's all good. Dude is milking the content but I guess most probably would. I'm not gonna hop on a soap box about caring about the community.

I just want my truck
I would personally just share.

I told him earlier this week, milk and juice do not mix - just spill it all quickly. You exclusivity is time sensitive. ha

How does one get used to not looking at the road ahead? I "upgraded" my f150 head unit to one that is all touch screen. I can't stand it. It takes twice as long to change the volume...if I put my finger in the right to begin with and don't get me started on the environmental controls. I get that part of it is the programming and maybe Tesla is better, but putting everything that was readily available on my dash and center console display seems crowded.

You just glide your finger on the steering wheel in Tesla UX. There's a rolling physical volume knob. You push it to pause. You press the other in to do voice commands, which work fairly well "Play darude sandstorm on Apple Music" and it's just like a jam blasting you through the lit stereo system my guy. It works great. Shugu-dugu-duh......

"it's just a glance to the right.... then you're back to the left".

SRSLY, you just get used to glancing to check, but most of the time I'm just on AP using cruise control to maintain speed and don't look. that's even on surface roads.

There's a substantial aftermarket for 3/Y HUDs.

https://www.google.com/search?q=tesla+model+3+hud&tbm=shop
No, there really is not. They are available but sell hardly any, and I can promise you they sell zero to people who have owned the vehicle for more than 30 days.

You will not believe me, but I would just say again that it is absolutely a non-issue.

PS here is how your know they sell hardly any: go to amazon and look at the number of reviews on the three different units you found on google: one has 8 one 4 and one 6. Contrast that with model 3 floor mats, for example, with 1000+ reviews etc.

Volume is a scroll wheel and voice commands can control a lot of things in the car. The speed is just below eyeline like a dash is anyway, just a little to the side too. You can still see it with a glance, don't need a whole turn

Matthew presented a lot of information in the video.

Interpolated measurements and indirect information are a start, but they're really not precise enough nor verified substantially for making any critical decisions. The information is still very interesting and useful though, and I do appreciate the effort that went into collecting and presenting it.

There are some different questions I would've asked for such a video (but maybe he asked them and Tesla employees were mum). However Matthew needs to have someone look at his video format during editing and before posting, because this 'talking head' clip insert really just screamed 'attention deficit' to me and was actually kind of annoying. I think it would've been much better if he'd have just left his narration voice in the background and included more factory or Cybertruck imagery. He possibly wanted to get the video posted quickly as possible under time constraints, which possibly compromised production considerations maybe. But many of us have got more than our fill of 'talking heads' in recent years, and I'll just leave that discussion right there.

The presentation did tell us a lot of things (most of which are likely accurate, but much of which still needs to be verified). I found the discussion about the Baja suspension testing, and what Sandy Munro said about the air suspension cylinders, to be especially interesting. The overall information was from interpolated imagery measurements at a restricted distance, and indirect third person commentary. This doesn't mean some of it isn't accurate though, but we just can't know 100 percent for certain at this point.

When Tesla does an actual Final Production Reveal, and Tesla publishes the Specifications, and Tesla updates the Cybertruck graphics and information on their web site, I will be laser-focused on that for certain.

Until then, Matthew has brought us information to wet our appetites that we otherwise may never have had, so he deserves some appreciation for a lot of work done in a short amount of time.

Waiting for Elon to respond regarding tri motor vs quad motor...if Elon back tracks it's not the end of the world but be very weird to say they reduced the size but kept the same length. Also back tracks on quad vs tri. Gotta wait it out shouldn't be much longer now

Anyone know if the price of FSD is locked in with my registration? At the time of registration, I chose FSD option at $8000.

18" wheels....
They'd look real small and funny on CT!
Like those guys with the lifted trucks and tiny wheels.

For what it's worth, I think a lot of the content was good/accurate. Like others, not a fan of the milking and drama, but hey, everyone wants to be an influencer these days. I also put a little more faith in his comments hearing that he was talking to multiple employees at a meet and greet, and not just a random guy guarding the truck.

I think his measurements are close to accurate, and make a lot of sense since they've been targeting the F150 all along. Fears of a midsize truck are gone. We saw the amber lights on previous test trucks. We know there's no midgate from the body casting we saw. The rear window going down is consistent with Elon's comments and would allow hvac circulation into the bed with a camper addition shown on reveal night. The 6th seat delete is a surprise and disappointment but probably also true. I don't buy the "no room" reasoning on a 80" wide truck, but it might be a case of "no room to include a 3rd seat and still use the existing seats from the model X and we don't want to design and produce new ones " sorta thing. No driver's screen is slightly surprising given one test truck did have it, but none was promised or shown at reveal. Two models is probable, and there's a good chance they don't bother with 4 motors due to cost. The accessories team makes a ton of sense from an ez profits perspective, truck owners love accessories, and the CT's unique shape/48volt battery will make third party products a little tough early on while the market it small.

We're about 3-4 months from production, so what we saw is likely very close to final. Overall I'm pretty stoked that they kept it that close to the initial promise, and even added a few things like 4-wheel steering. The huge question remaining is battery/range. Really hoping the 500 mile promise is kept. It needs to have at least 400 for me to ditch my gas car. Winter hits range hard and there are areas here that don't have good charging options yet. Get that big battery in, and take my money!
