That would probably make a good poll here.

Reservation holders, if you had the opportunity on 1/1/24 to buy one of the two Cybertruck models that are to be offered in 2024, which would you buy?

I wasn't in the survey, but I'm one who's not going to buy, now that I've seen it. Not because I'm not impressed with it. I want the tri-motor (beast) but I just don't think it's worth the money. After buying FSD, getting a charger for home, etc. it's essentially a $115K truck, just not worth it (for me). But, I'm also working on building a house and want to stay as close to debt free as possible so that makes the CT basically a high end luxury item. Just doesn't make sense when I'd use it as a daily driver.
I want the beast but am not paying sounds like your expectations are not realistic. 4.1 zero to 60, more range, same tow specs same software and controls hardware, and you want to stay close to debt free.

Really? ??

Well, they're my priorities, so I get to decide how important they are. Given that I've saved up $83k since it was announced in 2019, staying debt free is not an unreasonable expectation. I don't think buying this truck is a bad idea, I just think it's not worth it for me and my situation.

As I am somewhere in the 600K range in reservation number, I intend to keep it until it comes time to make a decision. I have not seen the truck in real life and want to see it, touch it and hopefully drive it before I commit. I am reserved for the tri-motor and that was for the 500 mile range. I intended to use this to travel with our travel trailer in my retirement. Without the 500 mile range, I see no reason to buy the Beast Mode truck. I don't care how quick it is at my age.
Still don't anticipate seeing my number come up until 2025 or 26. I have plenty of time to decide to commit or drop.

Are you a reservation holder, @rjtumble ?

You've reached a decision to not purchase a Cybertruck. Hopefully, it will work out great for you!

You didn't answer the question about being a reservation holder.

If you are a reservation holder, your no-buy decision will marginally benefit the other reservation holders, also, whether you cancel now and increase your savings to $83.1k right away, or let it ride and ignore the invitation to purchase. Either way, a lot of reservation holders will eventually receive their invitations a little bit sooner.

If you're not a reservation holder, you already have a few years ahead wait for the reservation queue to get short while you watch what happens to the pricing and to perhaps re-consider buying a CT.

Sorry, yes, I'm a reservation holder. Not super early, I reserved about a week after the announcement. My res number starts with 11302. I'm not sure what that will translate to with regards to wait time. Certainly not very soon, possibly late next year? That being the case, it's certainly a possibility that I'll get one then.

The title of the thread should be changed to read,

67% of a surveyed group who are not reservation holders say no to CT

Hopefully, admin will make a fix.
which also means that 1/3 of people with no reservation want to buy one.
