I read the whole thing. Good points. Sounds like Tesla will lose a lot of the [thinking] off-road crowd. On range alone they have lost a lot of enthusiasts, and on charging even more. I am sure that they took a risk releasing it without at least these things fixed but they ran a risk if they held off the release longer as well. Many of the things you mention will never be addressed in the Cybertruck though some may be with time.

Been leaning heavily to the MX and keeping current pickup, as callsign mentions the severe limitations are steep in regards to replacement of the pickup with the CT. Tesla built the CT with the S3XY mindset that I feel don’t transfer to the utilitarian need of a pickup.

All terrific discussion and arguments. The main takeaway for me - context and perspective is EVERYTHING - and this thread just demonstrates that we all have aholes...I mean...opinions.

Personally, I have my FS on order, and did so as soon as possible. My use case - executive who wants a daily driver that has room (I'm 6'5", and a former left tackle), doesn't want to fill up on diesel, and will use the vehicle for towing a few times a year (hence RE on order). Does it cost too much? Yes, a bit more. Is it worth getting it a year sooner? Yes, the money differential is worth it, at this stage in life, and early adopter innovations always command a premium.

For those who wait, or forego the vehicle - more power to you. I've thought through pretty much all of the perspectives on this thread, and they all make sense. I'm just not one of them (aside from JHodge - almost exactly the same scenario, but I finally received my invite two nights ago. Hang in there - it's awesome once it comes!).

I think that in the beginning they were thinking total utilitarian AND S3XY but have changed their minds for one reason or another. Now it is like a pickup like many people use it that drive pickups around town with some utility and off-road spice thrown in. It will hit a lot of people’s requirements but abandon the niche purists. Admittedly I am in the former group.

For an OEM vehicle, I don’t know that any truck will ever ride better than a Raptor. Certainly not the CT.

In ‘street’ mode: the CT rides nicely, maybe better than my Lightning, but definitely not better than my old Raptor.

In ‘offroad’ mode: I won’t be taking my Lightning at all, and the CT won’t hold a candle to the Raptor, ride-wise, and especially not at speed/whoops.

That’s just the Raptor suspension’s specialty.

Meanwhile, the CT will do things the Raptor can’t or can’t as well. The Ct does a bit of everything, pretty well (and is electric). That’s a pretty compelling product.

But your use cases and preferences all make sense.

Admittedly I could be could be satisfied by the CT of n terms of general use, however, the CT cannot replace my constraint for the current pickup. Still looking forward to later generation CT. I cancelled first RN and am waiting on my latter which is RN115 group…?

I think I'm still picking one up on Sunday but yeah, a lot of the fun factor has been removed.

Currently $111k+
No Adaptive Headlights?
_The ones it has are as bright as they could be.
No Android Auto.
No Apple Car Play.
No HomeLink.
No Gauge Cluster/Heads Up Display
No (Real) 318 Mile Range.
_No All Season Tires.
Not great Fast Charging.
No (Currently) Hub Caps. The first gen dig into the tire sidewalls.
No FSD, while being required to buy it.
No safety sensors for the doors(?) or frunk lid.
No waterproof tonneau cover.
No spare Tire and nowhere to put one. In the bed with the range extender, can it fit both?
$20k in extras you don't want.
_If they think you can't install the Powershare hardware, they keep it & give you 6 months of supercharging.
A number of reviews talk about road and motor noise.
Not to mention the big price jump and numerous missing specs/features from the reveal.

You clearly don’t want the car, or you want to complain more about it after the fact than you want to get out - I cannot figure it out. Some of the things on your list were never going to be on the Cybertruck so they are red herrings. That you are looking for things to add to your list says a lot.

At the end of the day please try to keep in mind the hundreds of thousands of people that haven’t had your good fortune and whether you might get a sympathetic ear from any of them.

I do hope that you will enjoy the car despite your misgivings.

I could never get more than ~450 miles on 37’s with my Raptor driving 80-85 on the highway. Pretty amazing you can with 38’s. I never thought of the CT as an equivalent of a Raptor or TRX even. I don’t think many vehicles can be an equivalent of them either, without much modification. If a variant of the Ford Lightning Switchgear were to ever hit the market, maybe that’s what you’re looking for. It still won’t have the range of an ICE, or quick refueling capability.

Everybody gets to post their feelings on the vehicle. You, can't be concerned about fit or finish because it's a Tesla, right? So on and so forth. Looking for things? Says a lot? Paying attention?

What things did I always know were never ever going to be part of the Cybertruck, and I should not be disappointed that, they are not part of the Cybertruck?

I'm just pointing out things that I feel like the vehicle should have and that I wanted it to have. Sorry, wish things had rolled out differently. One of the more recent reviews talked a bit about squeaks and rattles. Another thing I wouldn't be looking forward to on a brand new vehicle. There's not much going on in the interior, I'd hope there be few if any, squeaks and rattles. But none of that matters because people were really excited about it? I'm am glad they didn't put a yoke on it.

not in my estimation. the aftermarket could find a way but that's obviously a long ways out.
