2025 AWD and Powershare - First impressions

Another advantage to having a Powerwall in play with solar is you can offset peak energy cost times, of your utility does peak cost. Still takes a while to get the ROI on a system

I need to do the math to see if it works for me. We have 50% super off peak rates after midnight...about 10¢ kWh. So I can charge 2 vehicles and PW3 then. Peak time is when people come home from work, like 5-7 pm. Then you pay a little more than flat rate plan, about 16¢ per kWh.

I bought a 2025 AWD model, manufactured 1/27. Gray interior, core wheels. First thing I did was add floor mats and remove the wheel caps. The floor mats are very good, not as heavy as Tesla's but they do the job and have a tight fit. I bought these caps and so far, they are staying in place.

Purchased FSD. It took 5 days for the software to download and update.

So far I've been impressed with the build quality and overall feel of the truck. I test drove a couple of 2024 models in the past few months and it does seem like there's been improvement overall with finish and build quality.

I only have 200 miles, so I'm still breaking it in.

I'm also getting the Powershare installed tomorrow. Quote for me was about 7k to do the install, on top of the $2500 for the equipment.

I'll keep this thread updated with how things are going.

Update: Powershare installed and tested successfully. About a week after they completed the install, the option came available on my app and the CT software. I flipped the main and killed power to the house. About 2-3 min later power resumed on the circuits attached to the truck.. including my house AC, heat, and several lights and outlets that I'd chosen. Once I confirmed it worked, I restored power and the truck stopped it's powershare and resumed charging.. took about 5 minutes. I have to say, I now sleep better at night

Someday us who Tesla Solar Panels and Power Walls will get Power Share I convert my whole house to electric
