Posting here in case anyone with a 26 CT forward has this issue come up. Engineering has implemented an assembly line update based on what happened with my truck. I'm hoping my buyback goes smoothly, if not then it now meets the definition for GA lemon law. I know this isn't the norm for the CT and intend on getting another one. The loaners that I had which were model y and x really made me miss my CT.
26 CT AWD with water intrusion. First noticed it yesterday and pulled the panel to shop vac it out. Recurred again today after a few storms.
Windows calibrated.
No visible cracks.
Water slosh noise first alerted me to it.
Service saying 11 days out.
trying to escalate it to get in sooner.
Open to any ideas of where it’s coming from or… how bad this could be.
Update 1 : emailed SC manager (had that from all the trucks prior visits). Drop off today, no loaners but will reimburse rental.
Vehicle Delivery 2/14/26
Service History:
3/12 - tire rebalance $180 at Tesla
3/13 - 2 tires replaced at Tesla
3/23 - 3rd tire replaced at Tesla
4/16 - air vents replaced due to noise, driver seat replaced due to deformity and noise.
4/23 - dash pad replaced as they damaged this during air vent replacement
4/26 - charge port door replaced. Front camera out of alignment - adjusted.
6/19 - dropping off today for the unknown water intrusion
Update 2: dropped off. Drove it there no issues that I’m aware of. They have no idea the cause. Gonna put it under a spigot in different areas until they see water building.
I’m working on a buyback request.
Update 3:
6/22 “The source of the leak was where the cant rail sits, there are 2 holes, each has a grommet to seal from water intrusion. One of the grommets was not sealing properly which is what was allowing the water to pool up on the B pillar side and leak over into the floor body of the vehicle.” The rear display is not functioning so they are going to replace the cabin floor harness that may be affecting it. I don’t believe they will tear down the interior until that harness arrives. They will then see if any additional damage has occurred or other items are affected.
Update 4
6/30 “Just wanted to let you know engineering is working alongside our technician to get the water ingress fixed. They've had us order in new body sealant to re-seal the rear wall structure as well as the area where the rear roof bracing ties into the rear wall structure and the C-Pillars. The sealant should be here in a day or so and then we'll get everything re-sealed. Once that's complete we'll re-test for water and go from there.
Assuming there are no additional issues with leaks we'll then begin reassembly of the vehicle” - buyback pending and no updates on that yet.
Final Update:
Resolution - 7/10 truck done and ready for pickup. New body sealant to re-seal the rear wall structure as well as the area where the rear roof bracing ties into the rear wall structure and the C-Pillars. Second leak found at the cantrail grommet also fixed.
Truck meets GA requirement for Lemon Law now. Will allow Tesla repurchase request I submitted to be responded to otherwise will allow lemon law attorney to handle.
