If you just want a color change, iv seen people get it done for $900 out the door. $300 for an ebay kit plus $600 for a shop to put it on. Its all geographical. Get on the phone and call every shop YOU'RE willing to travel to and get quotes

Quick update.

Got it wrapped in “Stealth black” got a great deal on the labor from a buddy who does PPF for some of the big DFW dealerships.

I ordered the TWRAPS DIY kit with a code.

He charged me labor only, and tinted it.

Said the material didn’t feel as tacky as Xpel, so the edges were tougher to stick - but I’m very happy with the end product and the cost!

When I compare what Tesla was charging, what I paid for the DIY and the labor - it was half the cost! If you’re in the DFW area feel free to reach out to him and let him know I referred to get a good deal! He can do the entire wrap or you can bring a DIY kit. He also does just tinting too.

Congrats fellow Oregonian. They don't mess around at the end of the quarter. Here's to hoping my reservation from 2022 gets me the truck sometime in July.

No new VINs for almost 2 weeks and almost all VINs that were issued prior to that have been delivered. I wonder what this pause is about. 🤔
We Probably won't see anymore deliveries for a while since there are no VINs in the pipeline
hopefully they were fixing some issue that we now wont have to deal with, or maybe new battery tech they have been working on and staying silent about

You know way more than me about the cleaning stuff so I'd like to ask a serious question.

What will happen if I don't do jack squat and just drive the thing and run it through a car was once a year? (Cause that's what im kinda leaning toward :) )
HI @Alpine . Find someone with an old Napoleon grille that they don't put a cover on, and you'll get a good idea.😀 (But also, take a SS appliance wipe to that grille and see what happens!)
I live in New England (salty winter roads) and wash the truck about 3 to 4 times a year in temperate months. Coming out of the winter, it was your typical dirty, and, additionally had some deposits from the road treatments splashing onto the vehicle.
In late April I rinsed the truck and did a foaming car wash using the two-bucket method and microfiber towels. Truck was mostly clean but had surface contamination spots here and there and on the leading edges of the front fenders.
Then I applied Iron-X, a couple panels at a time, and it got off all but a couple of spots. Used Cerakote on the tires and the truck looked mint from 4 feet away. I had also bought Cyber Brite but decided to wait until after pollen season and a re-wash. Have not gotten to that yet. But I expect that after washing and Cyber Brite, having recently used Iron- X on it, it will look virtually brand new.
One other note. Last year I did Iron-X for the first time and used almost 2/3 of the bottle. This year I was able to do the whole truck with the remainder of the bottle, so either I got more efficient, or the original clean which included rail dust was a more involved process than subsequent ones.
Cheers!

Don't try this at home folks!! 😲

Not something I would do but this proves the truck is very capable. I'd say the 7500lb limit is low for a few reasons:

1) Tire rating. Those Goodyear "street" tires are not LT rated and are already at their max inflation at 50psi
2) Tesla needs a reason to promote the the Premium versions of the CT
3) It's a very safe and conservative tow rating for the coil suspension
