oh they definitely are

They’ve built very few beasts to date, and there are many people with beast configs before yesterday - who were getting EDDs of ‘mid to late 2024’

someone who configured a Beast tomorrow with an EDD OF 45 days is getting it sooner ?

So it seems Tesla pulled the 45 day offer. I wonder if that was because they had a flood of YouTubers cash in with all of their banked credits, or because of legal issues, or just rethinked it?
But it is no longer there in the Redeem part of the app.
I'm 99% sure they allocated only a few and they got bought up quick.

But it says they'll do it again

wouldn’t be so jarring if everyone wasn’t always going on about how they love Tesla’s sales tactics compared to traditional dealerships…
I don't see this as a sales gimmick though. It's an incentive for people who are actionable enthusiasts. How do you think Tesla gets away with not having a marketing department or a budget for Ads?

which to me goes to show the intent of this program

Tesla knows there will be some blow-back to this program from existing orders and people with lower arms who still haven’t been invited to even config

so what does Tesla view as the upside that outweighs this blowback?

Seems to me it’s clicks/buzz

How do you maximize clicks/buzz? Increase tension.

Increase tension by intentionally keeping the offer both sporadic and unannounced, so that people people are incentivized to keep coming back and looking for more slots (to either ‘buy,’ or complain about).

Put differently? “There’s no such thing as bad press.”

I bet they had a TON of YouTubers take them up on it. I wonder how this will affect my Jan-Mar delivery date?

Now imagine the tension between Tesla and a guy in Virginia who has waited 63 days and still doesn’t have a VIN.

Over. It’s gone!! Whee

(for now)
I guess it's a little better knowing it was only a QTY:1, I failed to notice that before. Still pisses me off though, but one issue I can move on from lol

They are just trying to drop credits off the book. Some people have a lot of credits but many used them to get to the delivery event ... remember? How much would that suck to feel like you got kicked back in line by someone who did not even go to the delivery event but had the credits.
Honestly, if the production and issues don't kick into gear soon, this is going to be a long wait for most of us. I got my invite and ordered in the second half of January and I still don't see that they have made it through the December Orders yet.
I see maybe 100 CT's in the delivery lot once a week or so and the number of states is still very short. NONE in VA yet ... I remain curious about why that even matters though. is is Service Centers? What?
I have texted my Tesla sales guy twice from whom I have bought two Model X's and he is incredibly ignorant or uninformed about CT. He sounds like he does not even know what it is and has never even seen one.
The lack of transparency is glaring for a public company. I still own stock and as long as the fundamentals of volume and margin and innovation remain ... I will keep it. But the lack of transparency is just crazy! Who would it hurt to say ... we can only build 3 CT's a day or we can do 500 per week now? I am still thinking it is 30 per day max. If it was a big number, like 100 per day, I think we would see more activity in the lots and more transparency too! Companies that are having a tough go of a roll out, typically are quiet.

Lots of people in this same boat. I configured 12/15/23 from Florida. No VIN. Now it's even farther away with line skippers involved.

Heck, you just need one person because if you refer someone and they do a do a demo drive (by the end of March), you get 10X, or 100K referral credits for that one person. Yeah you could easily go down to the Tesla Showroom and talk to people who are there to test drive a vehicle and "work something out with them" for a relatively cheep price to go straight to the front of the line.
10x only on demo drive, and thats 100x10 so you would need 30 people. (Ends March 1)
