Somehow my tailgate opened overnight with the garage door closed. When I opened the door remotely I heard a racket and the door rear panel on one side hit it while opening.

Has anyone replaced one or either piece before (looks like the top and the plastic that goes across the entire rear, one looks like it pops on and the other looks like it might be accessible for removal once the top is popped off??
This is a fear I've had from day one, my truck barely fits in my garage by like 4/5 inches. I was thinking to add garage sensors at tailgate height to stop the garage from being opened in cases like this. But thought it was overkill so haven't done it, but this makes me want to.

Wish Tesla would only open the tailgate if the camera didn't detect anything in the way. Also, same concern at a charger, someone opening the tailgate right into the charger.

That's already happened -- the top applique I had delayed doing anything with as I carry stuff in the truck and it had some wear and tear already. It's not reseating now so time to replace that.

The brake light I am worried about as it got whacked hard at least four times. The scratch I can try to buff out tomorrow but need to inspect it closely to see if there's any small cracks starting.

If you do find cracks, clean it with simple green to degrease, wipe with IPA to remove anything left then fill with clear nail polish. Should prevent any water ingress.
