Anyone else experiencing this vinyl wrap defect on their hood? Max temp here on the coast of CA hasn’t been over 89°F so it’s a bit confusing.

Do you know what brand PPF you installed? Was this from Tesla direct?

I’ve been saying it from day one, DO NOT USE VINYL, DO PPF PERIOD. Way more protection. Vinyl will absolutely treat anytime something hits it, you will spend more money in the long run

It's mirroring the interior structure, maybe check again at night.

To me, it looks like dried up condensation that, in turn, got baked in. Check early in the morning where the condensation ends up “pooling.” Just my 2 cents. I hope you get it figured out. Spending all this money and that happens.

I'd not heard of that brand, so asked AI. Unprompted other than as a general question, it mentions concerns about mold and peeling. Before switching to PPF, I'd installed (3M) vinyl on ours (i.e. far from a pro install), and it's been really bloody hot and sunny here for the past couple of months, but no issues. The CT is a bit of contradiction when it comes to vinyl; easy to apply, but once on, the dead flat surfaces make for a brutal environment under the sun.

It's been in the high 90s/100s here in South Carolina every day the last month or so. My vinyl is looking great as ever. Recommend going back to your installer. My installer guarantees his wraps for 5 years.

So many people say only go with PPF, but was talking to several installers and they state that vinyl is still great as long as you take care of it, especially if you have an installer that guarantees their work and the quality of the wrap.

I'd say you get what you pay for. If staying with vinyl I'd go with a quality manufacturer and installer like 3M or Avery and consider ceramic coating it. On the other hand if it was cheap just replace it every year. ?

This was my first wrap. The photo was taken only a week after install. It was $2.4K. Is that cheaper than normal for a vinyl wrap?

Yeah, it’s a bit bizarre to me. This happened only a week or so after having it wrapped.
