Is anyone else not getting full amperage when using the wall charger? I’d normally get full 40 amp charging when I charged my Model 3. Now I don’t have an option to go above 23amps. I set the truck to charge to 100% by a certain time this morning and it still says 6 hrs remaining, but it’s supposed to be done in 2 hours.

Not all the post made it. I set my truck to charge to 100% for a road trip this morning. It still has 6hrs left, but it’s supposed to be finished in 2. And it’s maxed out at 23amps with no option to bump it up.

40 amp is not full power for a WC. Maybe you had something wrong to begin with.

If you just plugged it in then that’s normal. The amps ramp up the warmer your batter gets until you are getting max amps your house can give.
I have mine on dual 60amp breakers so it maxes out at 48 amps using the gen 3 charger.
if you check it again in about an hour it should be maxed.

That’s strange. I never had this issue with the model 3. If I set it to charge to a certain % by day 7:30 am, it was charged to that percentage. I first noticed this yesterday as I set it to charge to 70% by 8am and it only charged to 60% by that time. Haven’t had a single problem charging in 3 years with the 3.

Update: I unplugged it, and plugged it back in. Now it’s at the full 48amp charge rate. Any idea why it would have limited me to 23amps before?

Are you charging in a hot garage or is it just hot out? Greater than 90F? The mobile charger will reduce charging if it’s hot, if the plug gets hot, or if it suspects a bad circuit.

I saw this same issue in forums during last years heat wave. A wet rag on either the Tesla plug into the car, or on the mobile charger can help to fool/cool the temp sensor. NOT ON the wall plug.

If this is a hard wired wall charger, then I suspect you have a loose connection that’s getting hot. Have an electrician check the connections.

You may want to check out this thread others have had similar issues.
Do you know which generation of wall charger you have?
What is the breaker and wire feeding it amperage rated at?
What are the chargers DIP switch settings?
You are probably already aware but the Cybertruck will charge "slower" at the same amperage because of the bigger battery.

That’s interesting. We are in the middle of a heatwave here in California. 100+ every day. I still never had this issue with M3 on hot days. And as I just posted I unplugged and plugged the charger back in and now I’m getting 48amps.

Thanks for the link to this thread. I have a feeling something like this is going on. I don’t even know how to check DIP settings or anything like that. Need to do some research.

Can you post your XX/YY numbers? Is it reporting ??/23, or only going to 23/40 ?
