Anyone else's vault divider's center lift plate not function properly?

Even if I don't install it anywhere, the brand new divider I received today doesn't have a functioning center piece (whatever it's called). It always stays up and doesn't actually lock. Picture for description.

There are a few threads on this issue of you search. I did have the same problem and the root cause is the bed panel assembly. Some had it corrected by replacing the floor section, that did not work for me the issue was the side section alignment had to be corrected to allow the floor to fit with correct tolerances. One way to confirm it is not the gate panel is that it will fit correctly over the rear smugglers bay door but not elsewhere. If you make a service appointed saying the gate does not fit they should know what to check and correct.

I had the same problem. Tesla sent a replacement that works fine. I still have the defective one and am pondering possible ways to use it for something.

It's probably just a bad one. Send an email and they'll send you a new one and a label to ship back the old one. Cant' be happier with it mine now!

I’m going through the process of getting mine replaced now. Same problem but didn’t happen until about 6 months after buying it. Sent in pictures and a video of the problem to Tesla and just waiting for the next step.

I've read if you are using some sort of bed mat to remove the 2 pads on the bottom of each end of the vault divider. This makes sense to me but is second hand knowledge. YMMV

Your gears are bent. Tesla replaced mine, but there is a fix:
