Tesla said in 1st year of ownership, you can't sell it. You have to go through them if a sale becomes necessary. They at their discretion can either buy it back, or give permission to sell it on open market.

A forum member tried and failed. They asked his reason for the sale, then told him that since he did not have a hardship reason, they decline both the buy-back and written permission to sell private party
WHEN WAS THIS? CAUSE I DONT THINK THATS ALL THE WAY FACTS

That member clearly has a terrible lawyer. I haven't decided to sell yet, but if I do I'll give Tesla about 10 business days and then I'll put it up for sale. They'll get first right of refusal, but they can't force a person to keep their product.
They sure can - you made a contract.

Recommend reaching out to a lawyer, not a forum full of Tesla kool-aid drinkers. The truck was my 5th Tesla product. The others were 2 S and 2 X. Tesla, in my opinion, has gone from leading edge technology company to profit hungry corner cutters.
Hahahaha yeah steer by wire and 48v is cutting corners.

Did anyone try to return cybertruck to tesla here?
I have a cyberbeast that i am debating on either returning or selling. I would prefer tesla takes it back but I have not been able to make any contact with anyone. This is really frustrating.
Would appreciate some advice/guide on this.
I may sell mine and get the Silverado EV, for the steer assist and FSD for highways and some city roadways.

May I ask why you are hell bent on getting rid of your beast? I struggled with spending $120,000 too. But, now that I have, I can tell you, driving ANYTHING else feels stupid.
First of all, cybertruck cyberbeast is hands down the best driving experience i have ever had. I love the steering, handling, comfort, screen, and the windshield being so far away. I love all of it but few things have happened over the one month of ownership.
1- had close to 15 build quality issues with 3-4 major issues such as the roof panel bowing, sail piece on bed cover being loose, misaligned door, scratch on the front windshield etc. All of these were from delivery. I cannot connect the $120000 price with some of the materials of choice that tesla has made and the build quality and reliability of these. Sure, there were reviews but i was hoping I would not see them for myself.
2- the negative attention and attitude from people kind of affected me and i am not enjoying that right now.

So why do you want to sell it? Having issues or overspent? It is a lot of money on a depreciating asset, just ask my wife and she will confirm.

It's a waste of time to be worrying about lawyers. Tesla is not going to be going after people at this point for selling the vehicle.

Best bet for the OP is to sell the vehicle asap if choosing to do so, as Tesla is only going to further increase production rate.

100% agree. Reselling at this point equals a loss for any Cybertruck seller. Someone on Facebook is selling a like new AWD for $81k.

You can see the downward price trend on Cars & Bids Cybertruck auctions.

go ahead and sell it, but I don't see any issues that would necessitate a buyback or lemon law.

I'm amazed I haven't had buyers remorse at all. I usually have at way less than $100k...lol.

I really don't see why Tesla wouldn't buy it back from you and resell it as Used but for more than sticker. If I were you and you really didn't want it, go to the dealership and see what they will offer you for it.

I can see it being similar market as the Corvette C8 Z06.

These are all very valid points. Number 2 really resonates with me. There is a lot of attention good and bad with driving the cybertruck. I just tinted my windows and try not to look sided to side. haha.

This seems to be the case for for AWD but not for beast. AWD seem to be made at a rate if like 20/1 so while the awd are a dime as dozen the beast ( at the moment) seem to be holding value steady. I have still seen them sell for over msrp
