Did anyone try to return cybertruck to tesla here?
I have a cyberbeast that i am debating on either returning or selling. I would prefer tesla takes it back but I have not been able to make any contact with anyone. This is really frustrating.
Would appreciate some advice/guide on this.

From the contract.

... You agree that you will not sell or otherwise attempt to sell the Vehicle within the first year following your Vehicle’s delivery date. Notwithstanding the foregoing, if you must sell the Vehicle within the first year following its delivery date for any unforeseen reason, and Tesla agrees that your reason warrants an exception to its no reseller policy, you agree to notify Tesla in writing and give Tesla reasonable time to purchase the Vehicle from you at its sole discretion and at the purchase price listed on your Final Price Sheet less $0.25/mile driven, reasonable wear and tear, and the cost to repair the Vehicle to Tesla’s Used Vehicle Cosmetic and Mechanical Standards. If Tesla declines to purchase your Vehicle, you may then resell your Vehicle to a third party only after receiving written consent from Tesla.
You need to write them. Use certified mail, I think FAX is also considered legally "in writing". If they do not respond you should be able to sell without issue. I am unsure what constitutes "reasonable time", but it would be easy to argue you followed the process and didnt get a response.

Having to make 1 or 2 more payments would seem unreasonable to me. Most auto dealerships can inspect and purchase your vehicle in the same day, so I would even consider 2 weeks unreasonable.

I am unsure of they way they wrote this gives them unlimited time to respond to you or it has a "reasonable time" expiration.

Ask a lawyer IMO... @sefar

You could have sold it for a sweet profit 3-4 months ago.

The resale prices for pre-owned Cybertruck’s continues to drop weekly as supplies have increased and the pool of buyers who must own the “hot new thing no matter what the cost” has dwindled.
The beast will resell better than the dual motors. Might be able to break even.

And quotes literally fly out of this forum like folks have some kind of clue on how many have actually had these issues. You've seen what, 3 or 4 internet articles? That's representative of what and how?

Meanwhile, saw my 3rd F150 Lightning being towed back to the dealership today, where's the headlines? Oh, I'll start "Ford F150 Lightnings all failing having to be towed back to the dealership because some shmuck on the 'net saw 3 so it must be all of them".

If you are returning it due to finances you could consider Turo. They are going for $200-$475 /day in Austin

I don't know the risks of that but it is significant money.

First of all, cybertruck cyberbeast is hands down the best driving experience i have ever had. I love the steering, handling, comfort, screen, and the windshield being so far away. I love all of it but few things have happened over the one month of ownership.
1- had close to 15 build quality issues with 3-4 major issues such as the roof panel bowing, sail piece on bed cover being loose, misaligned door, scratch on the front windshield etc. All of these were from delivery. I cannot connect the $120000 price with some of the materials of choice that tesla has made and the build quality and reliability of these. Sure, there were reviews but i was hoping I would not see them for myself.
2- the negative attention and attitude from people kind of affected me and i am not enjoying that right now.
Welcome to being an early adopter. You counted a scratch on your windshield as a build or major issue ?

This must be geography dependent. Out of probably hundreds of reactions all positive, I’ve had 2 people yell out their windows that the truck is ugly and 1 person make a sort of disgusted / grossed out face at me. Even if it’s 1 percent of all reactions, it wasn’t pleasant. I don’t care if you like the car, I just cant imagine me ever yelling out to insult another person. Forget cars, but under any circumstance or for any reason.

I do think the attention will die down in the coming months as these get more and more common.

It’s just so different that it invokes emotion in people right now. They’ll be as common as a Ram in 2 years

“Negative attention?” Where do you live? I’d had mine since early March and I’ve never driven anything that gets as much positive attention. In thousands of interactions I’ve had one person say they hate Elon, and she looked highly unstable.

I may sell mine and get the Silverado EV, for the steer assist and FSD for highways and some city roadways.
And you can have “We will rock you” playing on the radio while you pay your knees and clap your hands. I am sure it will be epic. Enjoy the memories.

That member clearly has a terrible lawyer. I haven't decided to sell yet, but if I do I'll give Tesla about 10 business days and then I'll put it up for sale. They'll get first right of refusal, but they can't force a person to keep their product.
You did sign a contract. A lawyer may get you out of the contract, and Tesla may choose to not litigate the contract, but what a waste of time and effort. Personally I love my Cybertruck and cannot understand why someone would even buy something so great if they didn’t want it.

I sure did. And it reads like a first right of refusal. Meaning one gets their lawyer to draft up paperwork stating that Tesla has X amount of "reasonable" time to purchase the vehicle back from them, minus a rate of $.25/mile plus any repairs. Include a "silence is consent" clause. Wait until Tesla Corporate does nothing (what they do best). Sell truck private party. It's not rocket surgery nor brain science.
