So my wife and I bought two of these before all the lawsuit scandal nonsense and we both absolutely love them but never used them before. We have one in each of our two cars.
Last week my wife was loading up the kids after being harassed by a political cybertruck hater at a fast food place when she saw the same guy storming across the parking lot toward her at the supercharger.
She did exactly what we had previously discussed. She hit “unlock charge port” on the screen and drove away. It worked flawlessly and she was able to drive away and come home. A little shaken up but safe.
According to evject at the time of my purchase, you’re supposed to send them the pieces back and they rebuild the thing for you but since they are engaged in this lawsuit, there is nobody there to talk to but an AI bot which says yes, “we honor our warranty” if you send us the pieces and sentry video. There is no sentry video of my wife sitting in an unlocked car and fleeing from someone across the parking lot. That’s not how sentry mode works.
The bot then refers you a generic email address which nobody answers. I have sent multiple messages.
I really want my evject back if for no other reason than that it genuinely proved its usefulness.
I’d even pay for a new one, but they won’t sell you one. Everything on the website says “preorder”.
I have all the pieces and they appear
to be undamaged. The pins, the little rubber seal, the plastic housing and the chip which also looks undamaged.
Tempted to reassemble it but very nervous about screwing something up on a connector that handles 250kw and is being sued for thermal management concerns.
Anyone have any experience putting one of these back together or advice on how to actually get the peope at evject to respond and “honor the warranty” as the AI bot claims or sell me a replacement?
