Does anyone have their Cybertruck connected to their powerwall and confirmed it works?

To be clear no one really knows because no one has the software update for this yet. Based on the surveys I took it told me I am all set.

This is from the email I got from the survey. It clearly states both will work.

To finalize your setup, your home charging needs to be backed up by your Powerwall. Home Backup is compatible with any home charging unit, but 240V charging will provide the best experience. Our recommended home charging solutions are Wall Connector or Universal Wall Connector. Home Backup will be available with a software update expected in June. In the meantime, you will still be able to charge your Cybertruck at home.

I do not believe that is correct. Base on the surveys I took I am all set. It will work with the normal Wall Connector is my understanding.
The qmerit certified Tesla installer showed me the wire needed from the universal wall connector that is needed for the truck.. so that's what he said.

And now it looks like Qmerit is the designated installer for the power share system based on the website.
But they did an amazing job. They actually made a deal with Tesla to keep their prices similar across the US.

Nobody will know until they can actually do it with a regular wall connector.

I’m not doubting what they told you but I don’t think they are correct. My understanding is if you do not have Powerwall(s) you need the Powershare Gateway and the Universal Wall Connector which has the communication wire required to run to the Powershare Gateway.
My understanding is if you have Powerwall(s) installed and a Gen 3 Wall Connector you are all set. No communication wire is needed for the setup, just the software update in June or whenever it comes out. The system will work together to allow power to flow from then Cybertruck to your “home” that is behind the original Backup Gateway from the Powerwall install.

Congrats @edc! So is your setup the powershare+solar configuration without the powerwalls?

Do you even need a Gateway? If you already have a interlock and generator setup for power outages---can't you just run an extension cord directly from your cybertruck to the outlet after shutting down the grid with the interlock. Not automatic but a lot cheaper.
Sure, go for it! It's not as high of output and isn't automatic, nor does it charge on available solar at the same time, but that's totally fine to do!

I picked up my AWD Cybertruck a week ago and found to my dismay that my 400 amp service and powershare don't go together. Searching through the posts it appears that Tesla has confirmed you can connect to and power your house through a powerwall. What I wasn't able to find is anyone here connected and confirming that it does indeed power your house through the powerwall.

Also what I have seen here seems to confirm that 400 amp service is not a problem for the Powerwall 3 but would like someone to verify they have it working with their 400 amp service. A picture of my truck just for the fun of it.

2 phase or 3 phase 400 A service? The latter could be a problem.

Single phase. Far as I know you would need an industrial connection to have 3 phase power at your house. Most neighborhoods have a single phase from the local substation.

From days in solar industry have seen a couple of homes with 3 phase but they were running hefty commercial loads for their shops (oh, to have that kind of money). As long as you have single phase you shouldn't have any issues. Tesla won't be the only source for the necessary equipment but you'll probably want to stick with it.

FWIW I have a 400amp main panel with 4 PoweWall 2’s and a ~17kWh solar array…. managed to backup 100% of my circuits with the Backup Gateway EXCEPT for my 100amp breaker dedicated to my 2 Tesla Wall Connectors.

The logic? In the event of a power outage from Grid, I would use the CyberTruck to charge the other vehicles while using all solar/PW energy for the whole home backup.

I am looking forward to power my house using my CyberBeast.

Currently, I have two 13.5 kWh Powerwalls with a gateway. I have solar and multiple Tesla chargers, with a 400 amp single phase service (Pacific Gas & Electric) and multiple sub panels.

My Powerwalls will not power my house during a power outage because the gateway doesn't isolate my house from the grid.

I bought a Beast because of the hardware and installation credit of $4,000.

After I completed the second survey I received a response saying I could power my house with the CyberBeast in the event of a power outage. This is not true because I can't isolate my house from the grid.

Since the software hasn't been released yet, I'm fine with waiting. However, June is coming quickly and I want to be able to get my new gateway/changes to my gateway completed.

Is anyone else in the same situation and, if so, how do you plan to resolve this?

Great, I wanted to confirm powewall would work for 400 amp service. Now the question will be does my foundation AWD purchase help offset the cost. I’ll get it regardless.

I wonder why your system was set up that way where you can not operate independently of the grid. Given all the hardware you have, you seem to be missing one of the key feature of that Tesla ecosystem.
Ability to go off grid at the push of a button from Tesla app.

Did Tesla design that system or other Solar 3rd party solar installer?

It sounds like you have the deployment without backup. You may be able to have it change to put some circuits behind the Gateway.

I wanted to minimize the cost of installing the Powerwalls.

Tesla designed and installed the system.

The value of the Powerwalls is the ability to arbitrage rates when my solar is producing power (10:00 am to 3:00 pm) to when I am paying a high price for power (5:00 pm to 8:00 pm).

The CyberBeast includes the labor cost to isolate the circuits and that is of value to me so I can truly be resilient.
