Auto AC getting stuck on defog vents

Is it normal for the AC to stay on the defog vents? I have mine set in auto AC mode and most of the time it’s blowing from the defog vents, it starts frosting up the windshield it stays there so long, meanwhile I’m sitting there sweating. Even when I precondition I get it and it stays on defog vents. I have taken it in 2 times for this and they tell me they checked everything and it’s all normal. So is it normal to sit there sweating while the windshield is frosty cool?? The latest loaner cybertruck didn’t act like this, it blew out the face vents every time I was in there.

I've had than happen twice on hot days with older software. I switched to manual climate control to get air to vents and floor.

I have the same thing for a few days. Very annoying. I think I updated the software and did a manual reset. I haven't had it happen since.
