The drop in the % of Beast vs AWD in Q2 is a bit weird though.

It’s a smaller % of a much larger number, which still yields a decent number of CBs. Probably based on demand for CB which seems like is significantly less than takers for AWD.
It could also be due to the recall. I just visited the Tesla SC in Cypress and they said that in the beginning, they got about 10 Cybertrucks a week. After the recall, that dropped to 3 a week, but it's slowly picking back up.

The real question is, why are the prioritizing the AWD over the Beast? Given that the Beast is 20k more, you would think that they would try to promote sales the more expensive and likely more profitable vehicle but, instead they are promoting the AWD and loosing sales on the beast which doesn't make sense.

I'd imagine the take rate for the top trims is going to be higher on a website of enthusiasts, versus the general population. We've already learned our list is valuable for following trends (i.e. - states with delivery concentration), but it is a small portion of the actual orders.

I want a beast so bad, but the delivery for an AWD is estimated to be between April/June. The beast estimate is late 2024 and that likely means 2025. I would prefer be one of the first in my city to get a Cybertruck so I'm basically forced to go with the AWD.

Well, in other model lines, it was because the higher model had more batteries. But here they're the same pack.

Perhaps they haven't optimized the production of the Plaid-style powertrain or the casting is different or...

That's the dilemma that all Cyberbeast buyers are faced with. Most everyone wants their truck sooner than later. This has caused thousands of buyers to change their minds about getting the Cyberbeast. Had I chosen the AWD, I would have already taken delivery of my truck. Instead, I chose the Beast and have been left here to rot. Feels like a punishment for choosing the highest tier model. All I want to know is why!! Why is Elon punishing me for choosing the most expensive vehicle that Tesla makes?!?!? If I understood why, than it might make sense for the agonizing wait time.

My only guess is they need to do some more tuning on the Beast, whereas the AWD is further along. The fact that the Beast can't hit the advertised top speed yet is my only supporting info to this theory, but it certainly makes sense.

I read in another thread on here that the top speed limit for the Cyberbeast is likely determined by the speed rating of the current all terrain tires. Typically, all terrain tires don't have a very high speed rating as they are usually not used for racing. But this reason for the speed limit is just a theory.

H Rated = 130mph rated tires, so not the tire limitation / legal issue with 130mph
