Having physical differential outweighs the speed in my opinion. Plus the extra payload you get from the AWD. If you don't need the extra second and a half in 0-60 get the AWD. 20k is ridiculous for 1.5 sec difference.
To be honest, if you are towing that much and need that small difference in payload (roughly 200 lbs)……then Ford F250 is probably a better option?

As for price difference, i agree…that is a big chunk. But then again, people have spent butt loads of money on other sports car just to get 0.5 seconds better in 0-60! 0-60 in 2.6 seconds in a 7000+ lbs car with aerodynamics of a fridge (relative to other Teslas) is not easy. And somehow CB does it with less than 1000 HPs.

For sure, then he will post why the tires melted off and has to do a full replacement in 6,500 miles. lol
Personally, I launch my Beast frequently, corner it hard, and have taken it to drag strips several times. My darn Pirellis are still clinging to life at 21K miles. They’re close to needing replacement, but won’t die yet. I want to install my off-road tires but I’m too cheap to replace them before it’s absolutely necessary.

Is buttload a metric unit?

Classic answers, if you own the beast you're going to recommend it.
Gundo is the only person that gave a sophisticated answer. My answer is if you can afford the extra 10k then buy it. I was impressed with the power of the AWD, and I was going to buy it and probably would have been happy with it. But the day before delivery salesman talked me into the Beast with the same line (if you can afford it buy the beast). So i upgraded and I'm sure glad I did. Better to have and not need, then to need and not have. plus, its faster than the My brother in laws Electric Ford Mustang and that extra 10K I spent is worth every penny at Thanksgiving

The Beast is great for highway driving with FSD on. Efficiency allows me to travel 80 to 85 with better range then my Model S.

I bought the AWD and have zero regrets. 0-60 in 4 seconds is already neck breaking speed (that is 3 seconds faster than my first Corvette and the same as my 2015 911 S. According to AI:

The main differences are that the Cyberbeast is a tri-motor, high-performance version with superior acceleration and a launch mode, while the AWD is a dual-motor, everyday performance model. The AWD Cybertruck has mechanical locking differentials in both the front and rear, offering better off-road articulation, whereas the Cyberbeast has a mechanical front locker and a virtual rear locker. The Cyberbeast also has a slightly higher top speed and a more premium Alcantara-appointed dashboard

I would guess that 90% of the ppl that own a Beast never use that power. If the Beast had any real upgrades other than speed i would have considered it but it is essentially the same thing for 20k more. I mean give me a freaking real upgraded interior or something for my 20k but cutting 1.4 seconds to 60, Alcantara dash and a freaking sticker ain't worth 20k in my book. It is your money so do whatever makes u happy is the bottom line
Well said.

So you are telling me you are sitting at traffic lights and nailing it to 60 in 2.6 seconds all day during your daily commute? Uh OK. I guess you must live in the middle of nowhere and your commute is a flat 10 mile straight drive with no traffic or lights. 0-60 is useless for daily driving.
Beast owner here.

Yes.

My VIN is 9XXX, so I am a pretty early Beast. Maybe they've gotten more quiet, I have only been in my Beast. It is significantly louder than any other EV I have ever been inside. So maybe that answers the 2024 vs 2025 question from the OP.
I have a 2025 and have driven several other CT's and none of them are as quite as a Y.
