I dont think i got something set right. Backing down a 40ft, slightly sloped, driveway, slow, is way harder than it should be. It feels like regen slowly brings me to a stop, then I tap the non-gas pedal to keep it from completely stopping and it just free rolls. Then I tap the break to slow it down alittle and it starts reapplying the regen feeling to a stop again. So while doing this over and over until i get to the house, in the pitch dark, I have a break light constantly on and off that completely overwhelmes the white back up light making it very hard to see. My wife thought a fire truck pulled in with its lights flashing becouse it was every 2 foot.

Is it possible to disable that regen feeling that brings me to a stop, just when backing up or a way to set it that would maintain a slow speed until I hit the breaks and not automatically bring me to a stop?

It sounds like you brain is confused with regen and one pedal driving in a Tesla.

You just need to manage the throttle, there are no settings to make it behave like a traditional ICE vehicle would in this case.

Yep, just going way too slow. If you stop, the hold indeed comes on, so that means you were stopping a lot.

Just backed in again but faster. Went smoothly. It seems to be the 1 mph and below like it wants to fully stop at that point. Guess I need to stop babying it. Well that and I'm just 11 days in on electric after almost 3 decades of F150s. Invested in but never step foot in one until I took delivery of the cyberbeast.

Not ran into a Backing up hill instance yet. So many things to relearn while looking like a complete neeb all over again.

The one thing on my mind alot is, just out of sure habbit I'm going to be that guy that pulls up to a gas pump or even worse gets out to pump and right now, the cybertruck is the wrong vehicle to be making those kinds of mistakes with.

Thanks for the replies.

I’ll also agree that it is far easier to reverse a Tesla fast than slow. My driveway is narrow and has a tree that pinches it in even further in the middle, and the best way for me to get in my driveway from the street so i end up parking where my charger is happens to be reversing into things. It’s also a driveway that is steep AF. I have tried it many ways, and fast is actually by far the easiest. Just my experience. YMMV.

cheers

I have a great name for the pedal on the right. The "GO" pedal. One less letter than "GAS" pedal.

Now, how many time did your foot have to switch to the brake on the F-150? on the Cybertruck?

On the f150 my foot stayed on the brake the entire time. With the cybertruck, first time trying it at higher speed last night, I came up about a foot short without hitting any pedals. If I get the speed just right, it will be like auto park.

Don't get me wrong, I still have my f150. I just can't bring myself to using a capital f anymore.

I’ve been driving one pedal for several months now, and now that I’m used to it, I can confidently say, I prefer the non-one-pedal driving of my model S. I can’t creep forward, I can take my foot off the pedal and coast downhill to allow my foot to rest. I’m terrified about how this will work in icy conditions(being able to coast in ice is a huge factor to getting back into control, when you start sliding). But creep is what I miss most, back into my garage, then slowly creep forward to alight my bumper so the door closes with 1/2” to spare. But instead it’s jerk forward, jerk back, and eventually get were I want.
