I booked a short anniversary vacation at a resort in Ft Lauderdale and even though they have a small car and SUV policy they happily allowed me to bring my CT and parked it up front. The valet team were typical for the area, younger guys and they basically fought to be the one to drive it. That should have been my sign.

Overnight we got several alerts and when we left we had a lot of sentry notifications which as you know is normal. The only problem is that pretty much every valet got into it, opened the bed and even opened it up for other guests to look around. I’m pretty sure one of them even took it out for a spin but I couldn’t tell based on milage

I expect people to look in it and take pictures next to it. But man these valet guys were gutsy. You’d think they know that it records everything.

I called the resort pissed and they put me in contact with the manager of the valet department but he was the one showing it to people, so…

Beware of Valets.

EDIT: Yes, I put it in valet mode. Even set the speed limit to 50mph.

There is valet mode.. might be good to use that next time
I did. How is that going to stop them from opening it up for other guests? How would it stop them from driving it around?

You should get a notification from Tesla App if you enable Valet mode and someone drives it from park.
Yeah we had quite a few of those. The first few we figured they were moving it to optimize space. It wasn’t until we saw the videos that we suspected they were driving it around.

I still get a lot of attention here in California, so I might not Valet my Cybertruck anytime soon.

It's a downside to get this much attention. Hope Tesla increases the production rate faster and nobody cares my truck.

I'm sorry what happened to you.

Wow, opening it up to show people is a foul. I'd be furious too.

I'd say I'm amazed at the lack of respect but it appears to be an eroding quality.

I'd never leave my vehicle with any valets, ever. Their management are all highschool dropouts. As far as I'm concerned, a valet is just as risky as loaning your vehicle to a junior to drive his homecoming date with.

Sorry this happened to you... Sucks you can't expect professional service from a paid, professional service.

On occasion when my Model S was new and nobody had seen one in person I had to “valet” it but instead told them that the only way i would do is it was to have the valet in the passenger seat to tell me where to drive and park it, and when i need to get it i’ll walk to it with them and have them tell me where they want me to drive it out. Same tip, same pay for service, but no fu**king way are any of you sitting in the driver’s seat of this car. Period. It went fine as long as I paid the same and tipped the same.

This was at places where you were “required” to valet as there were no other options and only when the car was the next big new thing and everyone wanted to get a chance behind the wheel. Once the model S became ubiquitous I didn’t have to do that anymore.

I would think this would go the same with the CT / CB. You can always try to see if the places that force you to valet will let you do the same.

The staff looked at me like I was some kind of Karen but I was polite and respectful and professional but firm and it went well. YMMV.

FWIW

Cheers

This was one of those places that required a valet. When we first pulled up to see if we could check the n early we had 4 valets surrounding us. I told them I just wanted to park it and see and one of them kept asking for the key. My wife said she wanted to stay in it and they acted out off by it. I don’t care about looking like a Karen when these kids are so desperate to drive it.

I’ll take yours and others advice to just tell them I’d like to park it myself with the same pay.
