I also noticed several scratches on my Cybertruck during delivery and the Tesla rep documented the issues by taking pictures of the scratches and told me someone would be contacting me to have these issues resolved. He also said they couldn't buff out the scratches because it would make these areas look a lot different than the non-buffed area and that would be worse. It's been a little under two weeks now, and no one from Tesla has called. I've made a service appointment to have this looked at as well as addressing an issue with getting the cameras to calibrate. Upon delivery, my cameras have been out of calibration, so I don't see any cars around me and cruise control, etc. does not work, which has been very frustrating on long trips.

I have 4 panels that need to be replaced but am very nervous about getting this done. Has anyone else had their frunk lid, door panels and rear quarter panels replaced? I would really like to hear about your experiences. Thank you!

Best of luck with repairs. This could be a “within spec” uphill battle.

Unfortunately QC and fit and finish have never been top priorities for leadership to address.

Ask for free supercharger miles and try to blend it yourself, maybe? I wouldn't buff it, you will never match the other panels.

I think for the most part we should be tempering our expectations for these large stainless steel sheets. The whole design of the truck is Cyberpunk. Trucks are utilitarian.

It’s not whether trucks are utilitarian or not,but consistecry in manufacturing. I have personally seen some CTs (I.e my neighbors) whereby none of these issues were manifested. Having worked in manufacturing in my past life the behavior is called Digital six sigma -whereby you try to have maximum consistency in the process. I believe line workers are under much pressure to get the product out to meet quarterly quotas-combined with it being a new product. Management at the back end inspection is probably giving a pass. Hopefully this will be addressed with time.

Were you able to get these scratches resolved through Tesla? I have some similar (minor) scratches and imperfections on my door panels and they told me there wasn’t much they could do at my service center. I’m probably going to bring it by another service center to see if they’re more helpful.

Update on removing SS Scratches from my CT.

I took my CT in for service in MA and they ended up buffing my entire truck to remove the scratches and make it all look similar in appearance. I will say it does look a lot better than if I had left the scratches and did nothing. However, one downside is by doing so, the SS does have a more polished appearance and some of the SS texture was removed during the process. Originally, I was told they would have to replace the panels vs buffing them, but I guess there were so many all over the vehicle, buffing was the only viable option.

The photos below show the scratches on the left and the same area after buffing out the scratches on the right. Notice the change in texture as well.

Hope this helps others in making decisions about buffing out scratches.

Excellent news. I would be pleased with that repair. I would love to see some profile photos of the before and after look.

This video shows the 3 pads and the process used to complete the refinishing process.
