Blendmount Radar Detector with Mirror Tap - Any Service Center Trouble?

I just installed my Uniden R7 on the stock mirror and tapped into the power in the housing above. Easy process but I have a question for the board. Should I expect any trouble from the Service Center? I have an upcoming appointment in a week and one of the several items that will be addressed is cleaning the surface of a front facing camera. I had an experience with a GM technician a couple of years ago who would not replace the front camera on my GMC Sierra under warranty when he saw the Mirror Tap, but it took an override from the Service Manager who called the technician "ridiculous." Just wondering if anyone has received pushback from these anonymous Tesla technicians. As you might know, Mirror Tap doesn't splice into wires, it's just a thin probe into the existing connector up there.

No problem here. Was in service last week to get the light bar installed and this wasn't raised at all

I've been to service twice with mine, no issues. Can't deny a warranty claim for aftermarket parts unless the part caused the problem, and the burden of proof is on the manufacturer.

I have mine tapped and mounted in the mirror location. been in service twice, with no issues at all.

Someone posted a week or so ago that their service center denied warranty repair because they had installed an aftermarket mirror and it “delaminated” the camera housing from the windshield. Personally, id remove it during the appt, especially if its something they are going to have to work on.

Agree with taking it off if it is in the area. I advise clients to demand that they save the bad parts and have them looked at. I personally had to sue a certain German manufacturer who denied an extended warranty claim. They resolved the issue. Much tougher to do with a small part of low cost.

Anyone running the new update and have the power feed reversed now on mirrortap? Now it stays on when I exit and turns off when I tap the brake to drive
